Bon Sake is a hidden gem where flavors come alive. Their Espresso Martini strikes a perfect balance between rich coffee notes and velvety vodka. It's a must-try for those seeking a caffeine-infused cocktail. During happy hour (from 4 PM to 6 PM), indulge in their 2-for-1 drink specials. But the real star is the Wolverine Roll--a spicy and savory sushi delight. Fresh seafood, creamy avocado, and a touch of heat create an unforgettable flavor adventure. The restaurant's ambiance, reminiscent of a Southern plantation home, invites you to linger. Servers Aubrey and Gwen elevate the experience with warmth and knowledge. Bon Sake strikes the right balance between quality and affordability, making it a highly recommended culinary destination.

The owners converted this old town Covington home to a must go to sushi restaurant. Happy hour begins at 4:30 each day and is two for one on various cocktails, beer, wine, and of course sake. Try the Brussel Sprouts which are amazing as well as the crab, squid, and seaweed salad. Tuna nachos and the Gyoza dumplings are a definite must. The rolls are great and the ingredients fresh and top notch. The ODB and Wolverine are great rolls. The service is very good with seating both inside and outside. A great place for a date night with a great ambiance. You won't go wrong at this place.

Last night was our first experience here! Everything was very enjoyable! We had a large party with 2 little ones and they were very accommodating! The atmosphere was very lively and vibrant. They did an excellent job of remodeling the space and really bringing another viable sushi option to the downtown Covington area! The food was great!! Everything was fresh and came out in a timely manner! The service was exceptional! Cody was our server and he did a fantastic job! Overall, I highly recommend you try this place and support another local business!

Completely over rated. There are so many better sushi places. Tried this place out on a recommendation, sad to say what a waste of money and time. Complete disappointment. Server forgot to bring food out, def not kid friendly or accommodating to young kids. Special rolls were so small for the price, I could not believe the price they were charging. And the regular rolls could have literally been one bite at any other sushi restaurant. And yes I am qualified to make this comment based on my 25 years in the food service industry. Thank you. I hope they read this and take it to heart to do better!

I never write a review - but we had an absolutely horrible dining experience on a first visit. One entree served 15 minutes before the second. The food when it came was average. What sushi restaurant does not give wasabi with sushi. We were told it was because diners throw it out. If you like sushi stick with Ahi.

The service was extremely slow, over an hour to receive our rolls. The waitress forgot one of the rolls when she came out with the food, and by the time she went back to get it, another server had given it to their table. Took another 20 minutes for the missing roll. Music was entirely too loud, I couldn't even hear the person I was dining with. The prices were also way too high for the quality. The rolls were all very small, and specialty rolls were $20 a piece. I've had better gas station sushi if I'm being honest, and there are many way better and cheaper sushi options on the Northshore.

Cody was an absolutely wonderful server and did not miss on any of his recommendations! This restaurant is a keeper and we will be back over and over and over! we do feel like the music is louder than it needs to be and that would be my only complaint because otherwise I don't think you can go wrong here!

This is the best sushi on the North Shore. We’ve been going almost weekly since they opened. My favorite is the Gyoza app, RYU Roll, Columbia Roll, and the Boudreaux Roll. The Tuna Tataki, Tuna with Hot Pico, and Tuna Rabenda are also very delish. The Rabenda has strawberries. I was hesitant at first but they suggested it and I couldn’t believe how good it all comes together. The flavors all combine in your mouth in a way that is really unexpected and just delicious. It can get packed real quick so you may want to make reservations on Open Table.

Very nice renovation of the space with a beautifully lit bar area. Outdoor additional seating is also nice. I found the menu offerings to be just renamed versions of the usual goopy/crunchy/spicy rolls that you find at every sushi restaurant. They need things for people who just like a variety of raw fish such as flounder, Japanese snapper, salmon belly, uni etc... If your thing is rolls stuffed with crabstick, snow crab, fried things and cream cheese, then you will find plenty to choose from the extensive menu. We ordered a tuna tataki which is supposed to be thinly sliced and barely seared and what arrived were thick chunks of grey tuna with a tiny pale pink interior. Service was attentive and helpful and food arrived promptly. Very noisy with lots of your ill behaved children, but we went early so maybe that improves after 7:30.

Subpar service, dirty restrooms, would rather less fancy and more clean. Not on top of game yesterday. Barely any seafood in their eel rolls. What was even more surprising was that in their salmon skin roll, you could barely taste the salmon skin. And that’s the point of the roll, that the fish crunch salmon skin punches you in the face? Tempura tastes like Popeyes, which I’m not complaining haha still weird. I would say don’t expect good decent regular stuff. Wasabi isn’t consistently sharp pungent flavor either. Most bites had no kick. Fresh and creative, however, no sake bombs on menu and not real bonsai tree. Great atmosphere if you’re not looking for authenticity. PLEASE PLATE WITH WASABI AND GINGER WITHOUT CUSTOMERS ASKING. ^(recurring theme when talking to friends)

This place has one of the most creative sushi menus I have ever seen. The best sushi I have ever had. I try something new every time I have gone in, and it always blows me away. Not to mention the happy hour from 4:00-6:00 everyday throughout the week is unbeatable with 2 for 1 drinks and one of the best atmospheres I have been in. If you have not been to Bon Sake, you have to go in and give it a try.
