I ordered takeout, and the service was super. The hostess made sure of my order and any extras I may have wanted. Service was quick. I will dine in on another day. The food was tasty.
This restaurant is very mediocre at best. Some of the menu items aren't half bad but others are sub par. It isn't bad considering the location but definitely average. I agree with another reviewer in that if they ran a small operation selling breakfast tacos early, that'd probably draw some attention. The atmosphere is lame. The live band is ok. The bar is usually pretty dead. There's not much in Donaldsonville but with Gonzales 20 minutes up the road, I'd rather make the drive.

I decided to visit Cabos Mexican Restaurant a couple of days ago. I noticed that they were participants in the Ascension Parish Tourism Sweet Spot Cocktail Trail and wanted to give them a try.The service was a little slow, but I assume it was because the server was working the bar and dining area. Nonetheless, she was friendly and courteous. I ordered the featured Sweet Spot drink, and it was tasty. I also placed an order to go. It was the Taco Salad with a side of Refried Beans. It was especially good with the added beans and salsa.
