The food use to be DELICIOUS..TODAY WAS A F MINUS.. I ordered the rock shrimp & the snow poppers..IT WAS NOT SEASONED; JUST HORRIBLE.. I think if I had more dipping sauce, it would've been BETTER.. However, I DON'T..I'LL TAKE A BREAK FROM SALT & LIGHT.

I’ve been dying to try this place for some time, as I’ve always heard glowing recommendations for it, but I was highly disappointed. First of all, we ordered dinner ahead of time on the website. We ordered around 1:30 pm for our food to be ready for 5:15 pm after we picked the kids up for family movie night. The restaurant mistakenly cooked our food right when we ordered it and then had the audacity to ask if we would come get our food now. I said no and that we would like it to be ready for dinner. We were told it would be remade at dinner time. When we went to pick it up, surprise, surprise, the staff at that time had no idea what we were talking about, and we had to wait for the food to be made (which is no fun with a hungry three-year-old). We ordered the walnut shrimp, which I’m not even sure had actual shrimp in it. And the walnuts were CANDIED. And not lightly candied, either. It was like there were just sugar cubes in there. And then the sauce was full of sugar to boot. The cream cheese wontons were I guarantee you NOT made with cream cheese. It tasted like they were filled with sugary mayo. The orange chicken was also very sweet, but at least that’s to be expected. The pineapple fried rice tasted just off. The Thai basil beef was VERY good, so at least we had one edible dish. Overall, I will NOT be ordering or returning.

I usually enjoy most of the cuisine at this restaurant. The shrimp hibachi rice is another story. It’s about the blandest, most tasteless fried rice I’ve ever tried to eat It states in the menu it comes with scallions and eggs. I found zero scallions and very little egg. I tried to “doctor” it up at home. It’s a lost cause. Btw. It is not cooked on a hibachi. It’s out of a wok. Do yourself a favor and get fried rice from ANY OTHER Asian restaurant. Their bad is better than this.

Really good food and super generous portions! We went late on a Saturday night. They had steady business for dine in and takeout. The side of fried rice that comes with the entrees is enough for 2-3 people! The chicken and steak hibachi plate is enormous! The tempura vegetables are delicious! The only thing that kept me from giving Salt and Light a 5 were the waitresses. Our waitress came to our table telling us that she was having a bad day which in itself is not bad, but it was like she was preparing us for so-so service. She couldn't answer any of our questions about menu items and she didn't even try to ask the kitchen. She was friendly but disappeared often. It took her quite a while to come and take our order and she rarely checked on us. Then, her friends came in and got a table so she went and sat with them for a while! Also, I found it a little odd that the waitresses didn't help each other bring food to each other's tables, bus tables or help each other at all! It was kind of a "every woman for themselves" vibe!

Me and my family went to eat tonight. We had a party of 5, plus two kids. We put in the kids' orders first and were waiting on the other two adults. Once they got there we waited a few minutes to put in our order. We ALL put in our orders at the same time. I, specifically ordered the LSU roll. It's cooked, so I would understand if it took a little longer than the rest of the food. EVERYONE got their food, except for me. Alexus, our server took a little bit to greet us. Which is understandable if you're busy. I'm a waitress as well. I'm very understanding. but like I said to my family, I guess I can't expect the same service I would give. Alexus came up to us and said that my roll was coming out shortly that they were working on it. We saw her multiple times just standing around not doing nothing. She came back up to us and said that she made a mistake and forgot to put in my LSU roll. I told her to just put it in a to go box because my family was already done eating. I wasnt going to sit there and eat while we were all ready to go. We complained to the manager and he took off the LSU roll from our ticket. Alexus then came up to us and said "I heard what y'all said to the manager and my service wasn't bad. it's been a busy night but I am sorry." She had our table. and one other table. What's busy about that? And just because your busy gives no excuse for HORRIBLE service. She needs to find a new job ASAP.

I don't usually do reviews, but tonight was very disappointing. I usually go during the day and the service and food are always great but my boyfriend and I went tonight, a Saturday night, and I was surprised at how unprofessional the employees were. They were either on their phones or congregated together right behind the front desk and we were sitting right there at the bar. My boyfriend's hibachi was more like a soup and they didn't bring the rice that came with my meal until I asked them for it. I have bragged about this place several times and from now on, I will tell people to make sure they go during the day and not in the evening.

You will be surprised and impressed! I didn't expect such a great meal at a little shopping center restaurant. But it was wonderful. Very helpful with the menu if your not familiar with it. Just a nice little clean pleasant lunch.

I asked the server for a recommendation. The two dishes were the General Tso chicken and the Honey Walnut Shrimp because those were the most popular. I chose the Honey Walnut Shrimp. Too sweet, too rubbery, and it ruined the dish. Not executed very well. This was $20.Appetizer was the Fried Cheese Wontons with a spicy chili sauce. The sauce had a nice kick to balance the sweetness of the wontons. Wontons are lightly batter with a nice crunch. I would order these again. As of now, I am giving this place 3 stars until I return and try something else.
