I don’t know what or who to blame but the food at this location was very unpalatable! I ordered meatloaf and mashed potatoes with green beans..a simple dish! While the waitress was very professional and the restaurant was clean, the food was horrible! The meat did not taste like groundbeef, very chewy and bitter! The green beans were too undercooked - close to raw! The presentation of the food was nice but the flavor and doneness was not good at all! If I had to guess I would say better quality ingredients need to be used as well as someone who is a little more trained in the kitchen! The server here is the best thing this location has going. I suggest mgmt needs to stop in here for a bite to eat to see where things are lacking! Louisiana is the last place food should taste this bad! 3-stars for the server!

The staff and atmosphere was great. This is a quiet truck stop with a little diner located inside. I ordered the patty melt with a loaded baked potato. The potato was great but the advertised 1/2 Lb beef patty on the melt was hardly 1/4 Lb to start with. It had no flavor and was over cooked. The waitress was very prompt, kind, and easy on the eyes. The restaurant was very clean and kept. I'd come back and try something else on the menu.

Again Petro disappoints. Arrived at 18:45. Sat down at the coffee counter waiting to place an order. At 18:50 I was informed the restaurant was closed and could not be served. As I got up to leave I was also told that it's posted that they close at 19:00. I checked the company website and it says they are open til 21:00. I'm getting tired of stopping at Petros and ta only to find the restaurants closed early.

I bought a bacon burger and my bacon was raw I have to say the servers were absolutely awesome but the cook needs to learn how to cook bacon again cause I ended up taking a bite before realizing it I ended up throwing up and I'll never order here

Your Skillet needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!I have NEVER EVER said that about anywhere, but, come on!!!In what restaurant does slapping butter on a slice of bread straight from the bag equal "dark toasted, well buttered toast"???And an omelet that has ZERO cheese, but LOADS of onions, peppers & mushrooms on eggs is an omelet??? The 2 BASIC, REQUIRED ingredients of an omelet are EGGS & CHEESE!!! Without it, it's just eggs with veggies.Either hire staff with proper experience, or send them to company sanctioned dinner cooking classes before putting them at the flat-top.I wish I'd asked for my money back.IF you dare eat hereCHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE WALKING AWAY FROM THE REGISTERANDDO NOT PAY for what you DIDN'T order.

I travel alot and my son enjoy stopping to eat at Iron Skillet. Today we stopped in Hammond LA and this is the worst one we ordered food to go from. They seem to lack a whole lot. The salad was horrible. Need to try purchasing salad in the bags and not cheap brown iceberg lettuce.. They need a new cook. The fries were soft (undercooked). The fish was ok just need a new batter. It was not catfish. I will not return. The short older woman seem to only want to serve the truckers. I guess b/cthey might leave a tip. This place might want to consider focusing on customer service first. Also re training cook for attention to detail b/c more than truckers eat there and want and expect quality food for the money they pay. Overpriced for the garbage received.

I went into Iron Skillet Monday night at 8:15pm and the servers refused me and several others service, they stated they were closed when their hours clearly says they closed at 9, I came at iron skillet to eat because I didn’t not want fast food and I didn’t have enough time on my clock to leave so I had to eat junk food ! This is very ridiculous. Management need to improve and so do the servers !

TRUCKER HERESpent $40 on the blue cheese burger meal with 3 sides.. Everything was absolutely disgusting! I say close it down for good. The waitress with red hair was pretty hot though!Btw The blue cheese looked rotten & French fries wasn't cooked taste like they poured salt on my broccoli. Onion rings were kind of decent

Great experience beginning to end. Waitress was the one and only and was doing an incredible job. Sweet tea was perfect. Salads were crisp and fresh. Dressing was delicious. Our food cane out quickly and fresh. Fries were perfectly crunchy. My burger was juicy, moist and cooked to perfection with fresh toppings and the perfect amount of spice. (Bacon jalapeno burger) if every iron skillet was run this way I feel like they would still have a large amount of loyalty from fellow truck drivers.Thank you julez for the awesome service and great meal!Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu. Lots of choices.
