I called on a Saturday to order a cake that I needed to pick up in 30-45 minutes. They were able to accommodate me. The cake was beautiful and tasty. The only take cash though, so that was kind of a pain.

Where do I began? This bakery, tucked away in a shop on Manhattan Blvd, is a great place. I buy cakes often from here and I'm never disappointed. Good service, Guaranteed freshness, reasonable prices. If you haven't tried them you are missing out.

OMG! One of the very best cake bakeries around!I've been fortunate enough to have purchased eaten a piece of their cakes, since 1989. The taste is addictive and the sheer beauty of their pastel artwork is magnificent. Cannot beat the price either. I'm a pure s***** for the old time icing, theirs is much lighter than the old heavy icing, but still bliss! You have my business for as long as you stay in business. If you my friend of yelp, haven't given them a try, you are totally missing out!Oh, all you McKensie Bakery lovers (which I was I lover of too), to me "Creative Cakes" has a resemblance to their cakes. YUM!Oh, they don't take credit cards!!! I don't blame them one bit, do you know how aggravating and expensive it is to have to deal with credit card machines, from a business stand point?! Well, if you don't-then you won't get it! Just take cash and go enjoy your cake. You won't be sorry.

I love the petit fours, they are so cute and decorated for every holiday. It's cash only so coming from the west-coast it's hard to remember to get some cash out. Luckily there's a myriad of banks across the street from them.

If you're from the Westbank, then you've probably had a cake from Creative Cakes at some point in your life. My family has been buying cakes and pastries from Creative Cakes since before I can remember, so they're associated with many fond childhood memories for me. The buttercream icing from Creative Cakes is unmistakable, and the sweet smell will send your olfactories into overdrive as soon as you enter the shop. I've never tasted a buttercream icing that resembles theirs, and I consider myself a buttercream connoisseur. It's insanely delicious and highly addictive- you have been warned! Most of their cakes are white with a bit of an almond flavor, similar to wedding cake. It's amazing and was the standard for most of my childhood party cakes. If you walk-in to buy a cake, this is the type of cake you'll be receiving. This year I really wanted a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. I've never had chocolate cake from Creative Cakes, so I didn't know what to expect but I was very pleased with the results! It was moist, as always, and had a deep, rich chocolate flavor. Their cakes are always beautifully decorated, with a lot of attention to fine details. They're always busy, which should tell you right away the hype is real. Downsides? The parking lot is awful and they only take cash. All that aside, this wonderful little bakery will forever be a favorite in our family.

I ordered a Doberge cake for my birthday. I asked for yellow cake. The bakery assured me they only use yellow cake. When I cut the cake, I noticed that it was white cake and not yellow cake. I was extremely disappointed. The cake itself was good and the icing was good. I was disappointed that they told me they had yellow cake when in fact they do not. Next time I will go to Joe Gambino and get a real Doberge Cake.

I hate that I even have to write this review, but I feel compelled to. I have visited CC often due to convenience only (Haydels is MUCH better). I live up the street from the bakery. My experiences were always ok, never great, but the last few have been troubling.Today I went in to buy a dozen petit fours. Just as they did the last couple times I was there, they went to the back to retrieve my petit fours instead of getting them from the case, which was full of petit fours. Every time they get them from the back the desserts are frozen solid. So when the lady came back to the counter I asked if the petit fours were frozen and she said yes. Then I asked why she couldn't just get me a dozen from the case. She said "they all are frozen". Then I asked, "well if they are all frozen, again, why couldn't you just give me a dozen from the case?" She and the other cashier just gave me a blank stare without answering. These women must truly believe I am a jackass. So you've been open for hours and ALL of your petit fours are frozen??? And not just today, but every time I waltz myself in there they just happen to be frozen?? But I have to get the frozen ones from the back, not the frozen ones from the case?? Hmmm... I'm calling b******* on this one. My conclusion is that some customers are served fresh desserts from the case, and some customers are served frozen desserts from the back freezer. And I believe that is a safe conclusion based on the fact that I literally stood there and watched them serve the customer in front of me from the case, a customer that looks a lot different from what I look. And I'll leave it at that. Going forward I will happily take the ride to Magazine St or Jefferson Hwy to visit Haydels for fresh, not frozen, desserts and fair treatment. Seriously... who tf would frozen petit fours anyway???

This bakery cannot do any wrong when designing your cake. The flavors are delicious. My favorite is Almond White Wedding with buttercream filling. It is worth the best!!

I ordered my son's 3 birthday cake from here. The cake was so good!! I've been coming to this bakery for petite fours for a few years but this is the first time I've gotten a cake from them. We got a white cake with strawberry filling. It was delicious!
