The food was amazing. I got the bacon cheeseburger and my husband got the brisket quesadilla (definitely recommend). The fries come with the entree and they were some of the best fries I ever had (sounds silly to say about fries but true).I do recommend calling ahead and making sure you don’t need a reservation. We didn’t know to do this and we almost didn’t get a table. But the ladies worked with us and we were able to be seated. Unfortunately since we didn’t have a reservation we couldn’t throw the axes as the lanes were reserved. But that was our fault not theirs. The atmosphere is great other than needing a few repairs. But that wasn’t an issue for us.All in all was a great place to spend a Saturday with the food and live band!

We booked a party for 10 people and were provided a table for 8. The solution was to split up the party at another table that wasn't close to our table. We suggested moving another table to ours to make it large enough for our party, but were told the tables were reserved for a party arriving at 7. We stayed till 8, and no other parties arrived. So one of our guests just sat at a bench to eat his food.Their service was good considering there was only one server for the entire establishment. The food was ok for the most part, but the chicken tenders were as dry as sheet rock.As for the ax throwing, I'm not sure how you score when there are no numbers on the crudly painted targets. And the axes could use some TLC. They are about as sharp as a hammer. The atmosphere could use some work. There were several missing ceiling tiles. One was being held up by a string of lights. We also spotted several roaches.

Wife has been wanting to go here forever, but I could never get myself excited about the idea of spending $40+ to throw objects at a wall, so I always shrugged it off when she'd mention the place. But today, our other date plans were a no-go, so I finally decided to give in and check the place out.We arrived at 7pm on a Tuesday. To even enter the business, we had to walk through 4 active games of cornhole. Yes, we walked through the entrance, and the first thing you must do to be a patron of the business is to interrupt 8 people engaged in their leisure. And no, there was no way around them.Got to the bar, and the lady behind the counter asked if we just wanted drinks and eats. We told her that we were mainly there to throw axes, to which she replied, "Oh, well we have a large party in the back taking up all of the stalls, and it doesn't look like they'll be leaving any time soon, so there will probably be no axe throwing tonight."Right, so you're named "Southern Axe" and a single party is stopping you from offering your namesake service for 4 hours straight on one of the deadest nights of the week.Sorry to the fellas whose cornhole games we had to interrupt when entering and leaving.

We decided to try this place because the reviews looked good. We go early when we go to our restaurant. 3:30 or so, before the evening crowds come in, so our party three pretty much had the Play store ourselves. I think there may have been one other small group there but I don't remember. We first said it one of the smaller square tables but it was really wobbly. So we moved to the bigger round table nearby. It was great not being cramped elbow to elbow like so many other places. The atmosphere is pretty nice, but then they turned on the TV with some loud music blasting. Could have done without that.We all thought the food was great. One person who was a small eater just got the tater kegs. They are high quality tater tots basically, but with bacon and cheese in them. They're quite large and look like a fried marshmallow. But they are an awesome side. The other two of us had the maczaddy. A burrito with your choice of meat, and macaroni and cheese in it. We had the brisket ones, and loved them. Their fries are pretty good. They're cut some strange way I've never seen before. Finally, we had fried green beans, which were very good. Try the axe sauce. It's a lot like tiger sauce, are some of the sweet chili sauces at Asian places. All in all, we'd go back for the food, even if we did feel a little out of place.

I don't usually leave reviews but. I used to go quite often with a few buddies of mine. When we first started going we loved it. Food was great and service was great. Use to go for plate lunches with guys from the shop. But I'm writing this review because it's not the same and it's a very unprofessional business. What made up our minds about management was the owners brother. This guy comes in hot. He starts throwing stuff then walks behind the bar grabs the stool and throws it over the bar and over customers. While doing that a phone bounced off the bar and hit one of the guys at the end of the bar. Who also just had open heart surgery at the time. The owner of southernaxe got the employees taking care of his kids. Our last straw with southernaxe is when we went not too long ago after not gone for some time. Our table was sticky and they had a dead roach in the axe lane. Our server was rude. Had a bad attitude. We didn't even get a demonstration for the axe throwing. We barely saw her and when we did she had a baby with her the whole time. Our food order wasn't right and took a while but we were ready to go at that point so we didn't complain about it. We ate it anyway. Then I go to the bar cause I needed a drink and we hadn't seen her. I go to the bar and see that she's standing there talking and hitting her vape. Then she comes and tell us we can only order through her. But she's no where to be found. Later when talking about it we was told that she is seeing the owner. A 19/20 year old girl. Friends and family have the same complaints. The service and place overall is not the same as it once was. It's not a business for them it's a play house. The best thing about that place was the employees and environment. Now it looks like a junk yard and the employees just don't care. If you have a different experience than me then great. This is just my personal experience and what was told to me. But for us we refuse to go and support people like that. Besides management and employees the food is great. I hope that place cleans out and gets better..

This is a great family friendly establishment. Axe throwing, cornhole, kids events, etc. They're always having pop up events. Awesome friendly owners and staff. Pictured is the Jack burger with my Choice of cheese (all) and grilled or fried onions (both) with fries. This is arguably the best fries I've ever eaten, but I'm going to leave that up to you. The Houma Hamma is another one of my favorites, their menu items just stand out from any other menu you can read at another restaurant. In the other picture is the Houma Hamma..burger Patty, pulled pork, mac n cheese, and their own axe sauce. Simply amazing, but be ready for a shower afterwards! You can't go wrong coming to this spot, i always recommend it.

This place is a hidden gem for sure! We went for the first time a week ago for date night and it was one of my favorites. We will definitely come here often!Another thing I LOVE is the family friendly atmosphere. Children are considered in every detail. I don’t quite know how to verbalize it… but it’s like a fun, chill vibe. Like a place you’d go for adult socializing but yet your child can also tag along and blend right in and you’ll have just as much fun.
