I ordered some food for take-out and I regretted it the moment I began to eat. I'm not sure who those people are giving rave reviews but they most not have tastebuds or they're bots.I grew up in Miami. I know these dishes because I grew up eating them. My family is from Cuba and I can tell you this does not taste like home cooking. Rice is not supposed to be cripsy. Its supposed to be fluffy and soft. A restaurant that can't even cook rice properly gets a 1 star from me. This place is an embarrassment to Cuban cuisine. Please don't think this place accurately represents Cuban food. It doesn't.The tostones were cooked improperly. They were drenched in grease which tells me that they didn't bother to drain them. They tasted like they were not twice fried which is the traditional method of preparation. The black beans were not seasoned well enough. I had to add salt. Cuban Black beans are supposed to be flavorful enough that you don't need to add seasoning. The pork wasn't that great either. They got the "general idea" of what its supposed to taste like but they're not cooking it properly. All in all a terrible experience. I'm sure the owners are nice people. I'm sure that they are working hard at this place. My advice? Fire the chef. Hire someone from the culinary program at SLCC because if your chef can't cook rice, he ain't a chef, he ain't even a cook.

Where to start.....well let's start with the greeting.....unwelcoming. Wait staff seemed like we were bothering him. No personality. Told him first time there. No response. Asked about the sweet bread, and he said it was bread that was sweet.... All food was barely warm, nothing hot. The mixed vegetables consisted of one cauliflower, one broccoli, 5 pieces of carrots, and about 10 stems of broccoli.....no flavor.....and again not even warm.....no need to go back.
