The food is very “food service,” yet expensive. Fried catfish was bland, with a thick flour-based flavorless breading. Bun was a bit sweet, not a good match for the other ingredients. Salad was precut restaurant romaine, indestructible tomato, armored cucumber, dressing that comes in 5-gallon containers. Asparagus stringy and overcooked. My dining companion said the grilled catfish was tasty, but nothing else was.

Excellent seafood gumbo with plenty of shrimp and real crab meat. Crab au gratin well seasoned with right proportion of crabmeat, sauce and cheese. Went well with some toasted buttered French bread. The coconut sweet potatoes were an ideal side dish and the onion rings were very crisp. The crawfish etouffee was exactly what you would want to serve out of state friends when they want authentic Cajun cuisine.Very pleased with staff and appreciate the family ownership you can tell they take care in presentation and preparation. Lots of frozen take home options such as handy quarts of gumbo and vacuum packed crab cakes. Stayed frozen in an insulated bag for over 3 hours in the car. Delicious and fresh tasting after thaw and reheating.

Super mom & pop atmosphere. But I got the sampler that had a little bit of everything.MOST of my food was overcooked. The shrimp in the gumbo was mushy.The crab claws were overcooked.The crab cake seemed like not a ton of crab & felt like an old reheat - so overcooked. I took 1 bite & was over it.
