It is more of a brunch place for me, the dinner menu isn’t as good as brunch in my opinion. Having said that the tomahawk steak was delicious and cooked perfectly and served with an amazing butter sauce. Relaxing atmosphere and super nice wait staff

Ambiance was great, however, after 15 min still no one came to even take our drink order so we left. They were not busy.

I made reservations for tonight to treat my sweet husband to a nice evening. We were amazed at the care Slick showed us! I asked him to surprise me with a rum drink. He did outstanding! And, after I asked what the rum was, he showed me the bottle. Super impressive. Our food (beat salad, fried cheese and filet with asparagus) was so very good. Each bite was like it's own food experience. We will definitely be returning soon. This place should be packed out on a Friday night! Thank you Slick!!!

HIDDEN GEM! Last night my husband and I went to Fire & Oak on Nelson Rd. We got there around 6:00. It was Tapas Tuesday (1/2 price small plates). I ordered an iced tea and my husband ordered a glass of wine. We were a little apprehensive because there was only one other table of customers and so we thought this would be a one and done visit to this restaurant. We were very mistaken! What a hidden gem!! We ordered the Seared Duck, Brussel Sprouts and Hummus small plates. All I can say is WOW!!! The food was phenomenal! I'm shocked that this place is not packed every night! AMAZING FOOD!! The only negative is that the wine was $13 a glass. That's too expensive for a glass of "house" wine. Our server was so pleasant and the bartender was friendly too! We will be back soon!! It's a little off the beaten track, but well worth the drive even if you don't live in South Lake Charles! (We live north of Moss Bluff, so it was quite a drive for us.) Go try it! You will be happy you did!

Ordered at 7:20 pm. Received our food cold at 8:15. The excuse was it was busy but the tables are empty. I expected more from how much I paid. Will not recommend to friends or family.

Amazing food! There wasn’t a plate we didn’t enjoy on our date night! The blue cheese salad was ombré best I’ve ever had and the bar selection was great as well!

Fire & Oak is a seriously overlooked gem in lake Charles! The food is great and offers a good variety at good prices. When you go, you’ve got to try the Brussels sprouts! The drinks are also delicious. Good food. Good atmosphere. Great servers.

Wanted to love it. Brunch was just okay. Drinks were terribly over priced ($12 for a Kailua and Cream), service was slow (45 minutes to get all of our drinks) and food was not flavorful. Everything was brought out piecemeal - no one ate at the same time. Great location but not sure if we will go back anytime soon.

Amazing cocktails in the bar and the food was delicious. We liked the fried oysters, the selected cheese platter and the hummus with lump crab appetizers. Steaks and fries, shrimp carbonara, and halibut entrees were awesome. Wine selection is small but the wines we've tried were excellent. They have outdoor patio dining available and wait staff was very friendly. We will be back with friends.

Wow! What an amazing bar this place has! The bourbon lineup is top notch! I recently had the Fresco Margarita and it was perfect! The hamburgers and fries on their lunch menu are the best I've had! Fries as an appetizer is unique, delicious, and hits the spot (added pic). My favorites at dinner have been the steak and gnocchi. The gnocchi is changed up occasionally according to what is local and fresh so it's been fun to try them all. All have been delicious!

Went for dinner on a Saturday night, place was dead. Service was extremely slow and was not busy at all! Menu is simple, not many options.. food was okay however, not worth the price! Will not return!

Nice new restaurant. Clean. Server was Alex in the bar area and he was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had the fried oysters and Brussels sprouts appetizers - both really good. I had the sea bass and it was perfect. Outside patio are and a spacious dining are and cozy bar. Check it out if you are in the area.

Came here for brunch with friends and sat inside. If I wanted a generally OK experience for food, drinks, and vibe I could come back but sit outside to enjoy the patio. I have nothing to complain about, the waitstaff were good, food and drinks came out fast. The music was good but not too loud. The decor was interesting as well. I felt like someone put quite a bit of work into it. We ordered the signature drinks which were all enjoyable and high quality. Chicken and waffles: well breaded and fried dark meat, waffles (came with 3/4 waffle!), and the sauce was good and slightly sweet. The cornbread was very good. And the hollandaise sauce was on point. But both the cornbread dish and grits came with underwhelming pulled pork. So basically, nothing to write home about, but there are no negatives except it is on the expensive side for brunch that is underwhelming.
