Although a truck I ordered the fish the potion for the price was excellent even though they ran out of orders I came about 5pm the young lady explained that the building will be open soon. I pray that it does finally real down home cooking. If the fish and fries were beyond delicious I can only imagine what the rest of the menu taste like. I pray God ? speedingly help them open their building. GOD BLESS

First time visiting from Texas. The strawberry cake was awesome. The mustard greens were seasoned very well. The canned yams were tasty. We ordered baked chicken and cornbread dressing. The baked chicken was good; however, we were not fans of the cornbread dressing due to having too much sage. The food was not hot considering how long we waited. On another note, you get a lot for your money. We would visit this establishment again to try some other foods on the menu if we're ever in the city.

Ordered the baked rib platter. Tasted fine, not blown away but was good. Atmosphere was a bit cramped and the AC seemed to not be working so was a little stuffy. Service was ok.

This is a wonderful family run restaurant. They are warm and welcoming, and the homestyle food is delicious!

Excellent Oxtails. Just call a day before to make sure they have them for you pre ordered. I enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality . Felt at home. Great People. will be back through there for sure.

I went to this restaurant today and just new I was getting a good southern home cooked meal. The baked chicken taste like it was baked two days ago, the rice was hard, the yams and green beans were cold. I asked for turnip greens and not green beans. For the amount of money it should have at least been hot. Never

Just tried this establishment, the food was cold seems to be reheated, salty, the restaurant was hot, food was inedible. Hospitality was great but to pay that much for food that you can’t eat. Take my advice go elsewhere.

I went to Rita and Joe's Bar-b-que truck on Ryan Strett for the 1st time. I ordered a chicken meal. The chicken was burnt and hardly any of the chicken was edible. I was so disappointed.

My husband, my adult daughter and myself went this restaurant on 2 April 2023 at 3 PM. The website posted the closing time for 5 PM. When we arrived most of the food on the menu was not available. The food we did get was not fresh. It was warmed over and looked like it was old food. The red beans were stiff without rice. We had to ask for rice. We asked for bread and was given a hamburger bun. The ribs were so tough they had to be cut with a steak knife to get the meat off. The cabbage was dark and almost brown and cold. The rice dressing was hard and cold. The workers said we were their last customers and they were closing. We had food from this restaurant a month ago that was served from a food truck. It was very good so we decided the next time we past through Lake Charles we will go to the actual restaurant. The owner apparently was not there when we went. Two of the young women working were busy watching the basketball game on the TV. The Server was trying to do the best she can with limited food options to offer that are advertised on the menu.

Ordered a seafood basket. The worker busted a bottle of hot sauce all on my shoes. Didn't offer me nothing but a towel. And I just bought those shoes the day before. Onto of that, the fish was raw in the middle. Not going back.
