If you're going through Lake Charles, you have to stop at Stramboat Bill's. The shrimp was amazing. The service was super fast and everyone was really friendly.

We didn't have a problem getting a table after ordering our food even though the parking lot looked packed so don't let that deter you from coming in. Our group tried the fried alligator, wings, cajun chicken strips, fried fish, and shrimp etouffee potato, all were very good and would try again. I'm salt sensitive and the gumbo was a little too salty for me, but that is me. I've also never had a lousiana roll and i loved it. I also got the wings which were yummy and crispy and you get about 8 wings. Would def come here again if I'm visiting. The portions are def filling and will stuff you if you eat it all in one sitting. I will say they are very friendly and great service. Our waiter was attentive and gave us to go sodas, she checked on us several times and food came out timely and the men giving us our food were very nice and even talked to us for a few minutes since we were out of towners. The only regret is not getting some of that dessert cause it looked so yummy all of it.

Why won't they just let you sit down, go over the menu, and then order. People walking in and out while you are standing there, in the way, looking at a menu. Ordered a # of shrimp, and every one of them was overcooked and hard to peal.Ordered a few other items that were good. But gotta do better on that shrimp. C'mon now...

Service got a 3 star because it is self serve and sorta chaotic. But that's good for an inclination of the food. There were 2 different boards with daily specials. A crab leg special on one and a corn chowder and crab legs on the other. So I ordered the one with corn chowder. When it came NO CRABLEGS. They said there was only the one special. Crablegs. Wish I would have taken a picture of the one with corn chowder on it. Confusing.. Hubs got the Captains platter. Huge amount of food. Best fried oysters I ever had. It was our only stop in Louisiana. We took a trip over from the Bolivar Penn for the day. This place left me dazed and confused! LOL.

Came to Lake Charles to see Home Free perform at the Golden Nugget. A large group of us decided on some south Louisiana seafood. Man did Steamboat Bill’s overachieve. Our food came out in less than 15mins & it was piping hot when it hit the table. Most of us got the small platter. It was phenomenal!! The servers were very attentive to our requests & made sure when never ran out of beverages. This place gets a 10/10 from us!Parking: They have a very generous sized parking lot with a parking lot attendant to assist in escorting you to a parking space. This could be just a Friday night thing though.
