The food was good but the service on the other hand was not the best. Was not greeted when my friend and I walked in. Sat down at a table after standing in the door way for a minute or so, still had not been talked to by worker. Sat there for at least 10 minutes in order to even receive a menu. Although the food was good it did take a while to get. It's pretty quiet in there and although it was busy there was one man running the entire front of house.

One of my favorite places in Covington, come experience some real ramen in Louisiana!!!My husband and I actually traveled to Japan in September, and got to sample a lot of real ramen shops while there. It’s a very serious food genre, with long-standing family recipes and techniques. This ramen restaurant is genuinely comparable, it holds its own. The broth is amazing, the noodles are great, the meat options are high quality, and honestly - the soy eggs are still the best I have tried. Seriously, I don’t know how y’all get the soy eggs to taste that good.I recommend this to everyone I know, to expand what they think of when it comes to “ramen.”

Nice little place. We have nothing like it back home. The food was so good, it’s making me hungry typing this. I got 3 different items but only saw one listed in my options below.

My first time there last night at 7:30.I ordered spicy miso soup.$15.50. Drove all the way home to eat, when I opened the bowl, the egg was very small and brown, I cut it open and it was two shades of brown and dark brown. After eating the soup, my stomach was so sick. This will be my last time there, so so so disappointed!Wish I had taken pictures

Food was delicious! We will absolutely be back. My husband really liked the Tonkotsu ramen (broth was awesome I tried his..) and I loved the creamy chicken ramen with dark meat. The Bulgogi dumplings were super tasty. Thanks so much for a great meal! Next time I’d love to eat there.

I had the creamy chicken ramen it was amazing!! The food here is awesome the people who work here are also friendly and very respectful. The steak kimchi fries are to DIE for!! And the teas are great to. You can tell they put love into every single dish. It was quiet and this is a place that definitely needs to be more popular.

After our first experience here, Journey East has almost become a weekly Saturday ritual for my wife and I. We just love the food and quiet atmosphere there that much. The BBQ bao buns are downright addicting. And the food is so consistent in quality too. Just a great place with nice, chill vibes.

Tried to eat here twice... first night I went. Walk in the door only to be told we are closing by a male employee, we close at 8PM. Me- its 7:20PM? Male employee - yes we stop seating at 7:30 and close at 8pm. Still confused but I just left.... Today 7/10/23 thought I give another shot for late lunch. Walk in, immediately same male employee, yells across the dining from the back counter "dining in or takeout"?. I said takeout, as I'm sitting at a table looking over the menu. I can see the male employee staring me down. He then continues to keep asking me if I'm ready to order. I finally said, sir I'm waiting for my friend to let me know their order. Male employee replies well we closed at 2:30 for a break. I have never seen a restaurant run this way... I have a suggestion for the owners... Just close indefinitely....

I got the beef ramen. It was $16. The beef(flavorless) and the egg(idk of it was sitting or what) was not the best. But the everything else was on point I wanted to actually drink the broth after I was done I added the purple packet and Sriracha that they provided. That part gets a 10/10. But for 16 bucks I’d want the meat and egg to be just as good and not bland. So that sucked.

We loved it. I've eaten ramen all over the world, and this was the best I've had in Louisiana. I'd prefer the traditional pork belly to the denser pork loin, but I get it. They're just catering to their localmarket. Both the spicy miso based broth and the traditional tonkotsu broth were excellent, and the price is very reasonable. The service was exceptional. We'll definitely be back. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to the lack of pork belly. All in all a great dining experience.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian broth based ramen on menu.Kid-friendliness: Anime art throughout restaurant.Parking: Easy parking. Large strip-mall lit.

Easily one of the best bowls of ramen I've had, with great prices too. Nice selection of ramen options and add ins, as well as dumplings and other offerings.
