While in the New Orleans area for my wifes birthday trip, we found this place while looking for great seafood on our way back to New Orleans from a trip to a plantation. Upon arrival, we were met by the owner, who was able to find us a seat on the restaurants beautiful and new dining porch overlooking Lake Pontchartrain. I highly recommend this restaurant for quality seafood and great service. The waiter could even tell he was serving some "Yankees" and had fun with the situation. Thanks for the southern hospitality and the delicious seafood!!

RIPs has always been a popular spot for seafood on the Northshore. Came in early before a show nearby for dinner. Sat on the enclosed deck for a nice view of the lake and sunset while enjoying a fantastic salmon dish. I usually wouldn't order salmon in Louisiana, but it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Make sure to get a reservation as every seat quickly filled.

Rips is always delicious ? the owner is so friendly. We loved our server. We went two days in a row. My mother lives close by. We flew in for 4 days. Also, we love the new closed in room. It's just got a beautiful atmosphere. See ya in April ?

Not crazy about turtle soup, but we both had salads and they were amazing. Friends always get fried green tomatoes.

The food and service are wonderful and the new glassed in porch is beautiful!!! I did wish the lights were more dim bc it was pretty bright for a night time dinner but that wouldn't stop me from returning or recommending Rip's bc we do love it and they do an excellent job.Dietary restrictions: The staff is typically knowledgeable about the gluten in dishes or extremely helpful to find out.
Parking: There is a lot of parking on the lakefront but very few in front of the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: This is a nice restaurant but the staff are and always have been nice to my kids.Wheelchair accessibility: This is a raised building, but there is an elevator.
We won’t be back, dinner for 4 $329 with no alcohol. RIPS has priced themselves out of our range. That’s averages out to $82 per person for dinner, for those prices I need 5 star and the food is not that good.We have been going for years but it’s priced way too high.
