“I heard about this place online, and they did not disappoint. The line was down the street. There were people from all over the country (FL, TX, MD, DC- and they weren't together)in line that came to visit and try their food. I wanted to try everything, but I got fish with a side of chicken, mac and cheese, and glazed/sweet green beans. Everything was so good. The chicken was so crispy and juicy. The catfish was flaky with crispy flavorful batter - and I don't even like catfish... let me say that! The portion sizes were amazing, and so was the customer service. They have Anointed Confections inside the store that sell the most delicious cakes, cupcakes, and pound cakes(not sure about pie) but dem cakes...look baby! Moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. “My wife and I had a late evening hunger that needed to be craved. We had a taste for chicken, and Gus was our second option. They stayed open at a great time to accommodate our hunger. Although we had a bit of a wait to sit down( there was a party of 28 people) so we were patient. The chicken was hot and fresh. Crisp skin, though I can't say that it was flavorful. It had a late kick of spice to it but the spice wasn't overwhelming. I want to try the tenders on my next outing and the greens.“
“My husband and I went here today for dinner around 6:30pm. There wasn’t many people, the old school music selection was great, and our server was really nice. We both got the half chicken and subbed our sides to okra and macncheese and greens and macncheese. We didn’t wait long for our food and it was HOT and DELICIOUS when it finally arrived. The chicken had a great flavor as well as the sides. The macncheese is creamy and cheesy. I will definitely be back!“
“Perfect spot for a quick bite and drinks. The fries and tenders had a flavorful creole seasoning that was a good amount of spicy. The Voodoo Punch daiquiri we tried was really good but a bit pricy. I wouldn’t come out of your way to visit if it’s your first time in New Orleans, but it was perfect for us after a long day of traveling.“
“On our New Orleans trip, my fiancé and I snuck away from a work event to grab a quick bite and take it to the hotel we were in nearby. We saw this kinda hole-in-the-wall, Voodoo Chicken & I was sold - I freakin' love wings. We walk in and there are several people behind the food area, but nobody behind the bar. The sign says to order at the bar, not the food area. Okay, got it. We waited. And waited. And waited. And nobody is helping us. A gentleman mentions after we openly wondered whether we should leave that the woman was in the restroom. We said okay, got it, we'll wait. We waited. It wasn't obnoxious, but it did take several seemingly long moments for the lady to come out. When she did, though, we were treated to a lovely conversation about how many bones she's broken, and how her grandma hadn't woken her up from when she set a small fire in her kitchen. We traded war stories while they whipped up voodoo wings & king cake ice cream for us (they also have giant vats of daquiris you can take with you along the street, since they have open-carry laws, but we were too tired for all that). We took it to the hotel to eat, where my fiancé had reasonably good chicken tenders, I enjoyed my sweet-with-some-heat-at-the-end voodoo wings, and we polished off the very good, mildly sweet, kinda cinnamony king cake ice cream (not much in the way of chunks of king cake in it, just FYI). We ate and slept like babies right after. It was tough to compete with the other sensational meals we had but the wings were pretty damn bomb; I'll always remember them.“

Price was very reasonable. Chicken wings were a lot cheaper than Manchus. The last time I went to Manchu the wings were soggy and some were burnt. The wings today were perfect ...spicy and cook just right. I will definitely be back!!“

The guys handing the orders In pick up area were not nice nor friendly and actually really rude and almost disrespectful. “This is the best food truck option I have had in New Orleans. The food is to die for! I am plant-based and was so happy to find the options were great! I wasn't feeling a sandwich and asked if I could just have the "chicken strips" and mac 'n cheese. They fixed the mac n' cheese and chopped the strips and mixed it in. OH MY GOD!!!! The crispy strips and mac was more than I expected! It was soooo delicious! The food is very tasty, high quality, and the service was excellent! With vegan options, this truck has something for everyone. Add to that the late night hours on weekends and you never have to wonder where to eat after an event and you're still hungry.
