Without a doubt the very best plate of Red Beans and Rice I have ever had since moving to New Orleans as a young adult in 1980. Believe me, I've had PLENTY!Velvety smooth consistency with an inviting aroma and deep, rich flavor. The generous portions of pork will certainly fill you up.Most definitely will have this again!

1/12/24Never been there. NO curb appeal. No indications of life as I know it. Where is the draw?

I remember eveleyne bornier…she came in(late) with a party of four…one of whom had called earlier in the day to request coq au vin and french onion soup, which we prepared for them. They announced that they weren’t hungry and they had their own bottle of wine. They had just eaten hors d’oeuvres at a reception and they had a problem with the suggested table d’hote. They picked at the food and they left behind the entree which staff had boxed up for them. If they got sick it was from the hors d’oeuvres…!! They did finish their wine, and they only partially paid their bill…!!

Parlons Cafe is a somewhat different concept in that the owner wishes to establish an intimate atmosphere where the clients would feel as if they were being entertained in a private ordinary French Family home. You will not find Haute Cusine here, but French home cooking. The staff is small but devoted and the food is fresh and simple. No expensive wine, but good table wine as your French host would serve at his own family meal.

Awful! Not only did we send our dishes back to the kitchen, but two of us got sick after eating only a few bites. Our complaints about the food fell on deaf ears and we were presented with a bill for a full "Table d'hôte" menu at $30/person despite the fact that we did not consume most of what was brought to us. The most bizarre experience we've ever had at a restaurant...

I pass by this place everyday. It has always looked closed with covered windows and non-inviting. What goes on in there?

This isn’t even a real restaurant or is it?????? Never “open” as its reservations only. What the heck????

Parlons Cafe is a French restaurant with some Louisiana flair. Parlons Cafe is located on Metairie Road in a space that was formerly a convenience store next to a dry cleaners. I've seen the Parlons sign but I never knew it was a restaurant so I recently paid my first visit to this interesting neighborhood restaurant. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner along with Sunday brunch and the owner prefers all patrons call and make a reservation. When we called for reservations we were informed that we were the only people so far for the time we made our reservation for and we ended up having the whole place to ourselves. My visit was during dinner time for a four course meal that included salad, soup, entrée and dessert along with a complementary cheese plate along with one glass of wine. You can have anything you want to drink in this establishment as long as it is the choice of the one red and one white wine they offer. Ed who is the owner and cook of this establishment wants his customers to come in and enjoy their stay and feel like they have made a new friend by the time they leave and Ed really likes to interact with his customers by telling great stories along with a few jokes. They also offer French language classes here for anybody interested in that. Parlons Café is still a bit of an unknown spot that not many people know about so it is a great French Café to enjoy a fun dining experience. My video review of Parlons Cafe is here:
