My husband and I decided to try a different restaurant on our way through Natchitoches. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. I had the Catfish Evangeline and he had the smoked chicken and vegetables. Our server was so kind and friendly. We will definitely visit again.

With a name like Fontenot's, I expected great Cajun flavor. I ordered a Seafood Platter and while the seafood was good, the vegetables were mediocre at best. Nice atmosphere and good service. Just no flavor.

So this was my first time...I am from Louisiana but live in Texas now. So I was expecting to get some homemade food. The food was not worth the buck.. shrimp ettfoute was soupy and no flavor. Fried shrimp was fresh but no season. Fried fish you really can't mess it up but no season once again. The bake potatoe was cut in half the long way. The sweet tea I ordered had an after taste. The potaoe salad was pretty but to much mustard. The hush puppies were burnt and small. The server was very attentive and nice. Clean place and parking right in front. I will not be returning

So the food was mediocre at best! Pasta served cold, salad came out after the meal. The server brought out half the food while letting my friend wait for hers and then it was cold! Server treated me like a tourist but didn’t realize I train servers and maintain a restaurant. They only care about the locals.. bread pudding was decent but cold in the middle!! Meat pie and boudin was only thing worth paying for!!

Expensive and below average food. Had the catfish/ shrimp combo. Shrimp tough and catfish over fried. Had baked beans side instead of fries. They came out of the can. Wait staff friendly but kind of air headed. Will not be back.
I order a smoked sausage sandwich,The Sausage were cut in rounds as if they were going into beans. When slicing sausage for a sandwich it should be sliced diagonally or wedged whatever you want to call it and what made it even worse is the sausage was COLD! Not room temp cold COLD as in it came straight out the refrigerator. And to top it off when I asked the waitress if it was suppose to be cold she said YES! The only thing good we had were the fried pickles. They were AMAZING!

Fried food was amazing...service was amazing atmosphere was great...only thing that was messed up, I ordered a sausage poboy and the cheese was cold and not melted and the smoked sausage was cold. Told the waitress but nothing was done.
