First time in NOLA, had to hit up Cafe Du Monde for their beignets! It was packed around 5, but the wait was only like 20 mins (way better than I thought). Once we had a table, the service was lightning-fast, and our order was on the table in 10 minutes. Definitely a must-try!

Not sure why this says Mail Order. We dined in person. They were great. The coffee is what will bring me back more so than the pastries. The coffee was the best!
Hardworking staff, go for rich real coffee, beignets to die for.

Delicious and friendly! Line was long but worth the wait. The hot chocolate was tasty and the beignets were fresh soft and the best we had in the city. We dined in and had a nice spot next to the street to people watch. Go!

A friend suggested that I come here for my first trip to Nola. I’m not the biggest fan of sweets but, I was very disappointed in their beignets. My husband and I both ordered 3 apiece and asked that they go light on the powdered sugar. We waited a few minutes and finally, our order was ready. We were excited because we’ve never had beignets. We grabbed us one of their super sticky tables and prepared ourselves for a treat. We cleaned our table with some napkins and a cup of ice water that we requested. The first thing we noticed was a thick coating of powdered sugar on top of both of our orders of beignets that was being immediately sucked up by hot oil. These things were warm, fried a deep golden brown, and looked pretty good. We attempted to shake some of the sugar off and dug in. Upon my first bite, I was turned off. The beignets were very dense, doughy, and soaked in grease and sugar. I hated it and so did my husband. We both were disappointed and both of our orders went straight into the trash. Not good! Fortunately, we later tried them from another establishment and these were so much better. We really wanted to love this place because of the crowd they keep, thinking they were the best. Although, we adore Nola, unfortunately, Cafe Du Monde is not for us.

I think I got spoiled by having my first beignets here. It was hard to find beignets that compared and I will definitely be coming back when I visit New Orleans again!
