One of my friends mentioned meeting up at a new "sandwich place" and I agreed. I had no idea it was a Vietnamese restaurant. I was in the mood for a nice bowl of vermicelli. Em Trai did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. The C.R.D. which I think stands for crab rangoon dip is a filling starter. The vermicelli bowl is a huge portion. I definitely had leftovers. The restaurant is located on Veterans, has a good amount of parking, and great service. I highly recommend and will be going back to try more of the menu.

Decided to give this hidden gem a shot. What we ordered; 1. The shrimp & bacon bao and a smoked pulled pork bao. 2. Lemon garlic and spicy sweet chilli wings. 3. Chashu pork banh mi and pan fried banh mi. It's worth giving this place a shot.

Although the workers were amazing. I was completely unhappy with my food. Last time I ordered the cheese fries it was cheese sauce and absolutely amazing. So my second time ordering I decided to get them again. They used shredded cheese this time which I can't stand. I called and asked why didn't they use the sauce. She said they don't always use the cheese sauce. I feel that is something that should have been said. I wouldn't have spent $7 on the cheese fries. I would've gotten something else.

I have been dying to try this place and today I finally got that opportunity! Everything one the menu looks amazing, so it was very hard to decide. We ended up going with the C.R.D (crab Rangoon dip), a pork belly bao, a brisket bao and the bang bang shrimp bahn mi.It was all delicious and I will definitely back!If I could change one thing though, it would be the loud music. The music was turned up a bit too much for me. I felt that I had to project my voice for my fiancé to hear me. It still isn’t going to stop me from going back though!

Ate here yesterday & MindBlown!! Tung suggested the Roti, so I ordered the Lemongrass Pork Roti dressed like a BanhMi. It was light, flavorful and hit all the Banh Mi profiles that make my mouth water! Watching Tung, the owner, kill the lunch rush, was awe inspiring! Even though busy, he spent time to chat w me & my lunch friend. He is energetic, creative, authentic, hospitable & a joy to talk to! & if this EXCELLENT sandwich shop (and more) isn't enough, he & his team compete at Hogs for the Cause & have racked up over a dozen awards! Stop in, I promise you will be impressed!

Ordered takeout 3/5/22. The ingredients were good quality and fresh, but unfortunately everything was too salty. I would give 3 1/2 stars, but yelp doesn't do half stars.

Very tasty foodSpring rolls have all the right vegetables and they are huge! The peanut sauce is amazing too. The pork belly bao was also very good. I'll come back happily!

Fantastic food. The brisket pho is amazing. The smokiness of the bbq added so much richness to the pho. Everyone was super friendly. We will be back!

This place was delicious. The lemongrass pork sandwich was great although I liked the pulled pork bahn mi a little bit more. The crab rangoon dip appetizer was AMAZING. I want to come back and try the pho and the wings which were being prepared as I ordered cause they looked legit

I've been to Em Trai at the other location in the Marigny area before they moved to this one. Same owner, hence, same food and recipes! All of the dishes are flavorful and unique. I actually stopped by to pick up a Vietnamese coffee King cake since they carry them from Dough Nguyener's Bakery, and I've never had their type ot flavor before. They also have other flavored king cakes as well, but be sure to call them to make sure they have some in stock! Em Trai's current location has a good amount of seating in the dining area and easy to find. If you haven't been here before, you have to try their baos (steamed bun sandwiches)!

Amazing!! We only tried 3 things. I will definitely be back. The char siu pork belly bao was so yummy. The pork was delicate and tender. The flavors were divine. The bang bang shrimp bao was delicious. One of my new favs! We also tried the C.R.D. It's a play on Crab Rangoon. The dip was creamy and tasty. I adore the fried wonton chips. Great idea!
