We come to New Orleans once a year. We have been to Evangeline's three times. So this year we saved it for our last night in town. This was probably a mistake because it was a Tuesday night in April and not very busy in the Quarter. We had always been able to sit in their cozy courtyard, but this year we were told the courtyard had been taken over by a family of bees and they were waiting for someone to remove them. As we were dining inside, we heard one of the servers tell a table that they don't seat the courtyard when it's not busy so that it looks busy with the dining room full. So which is it? Just tell the truth. When we were here the first time (pre pandemic) the service was first class and the food delicious. The second time the service was still good but the menu seemed reduced which was understandable (post pandemic). Tonight the service was definitely not first class and the food was subpar. First of all we got our appetizer before our drinks. We wanted a relazing dining experience but was constantly asked if we were ready to order our entree even before we got our appetizer. They didn't have olives for a Martini. The server didn't know what Chardonnay was and he never asked my husband if he wanted another cocktail. My husband and I are just very disappointed that this sweet restaurant has severly disappointed.

The food was good, but was priced unreasonably high for what it was.

Awesome place for a brew and some food and fun. Aleesha is an awesome bartender and very sweet. Coming back at 4 o'clock for some gumbo..

Disappointing visit. Lacked atmosphere and service felt rushed. Crawfish etouffee was excellent but red beans and rice as a main was the size of a side dish. Not what we had expected from the reviews we'd read.

We sat in the lovely courtyard on a gorgeous day. Our excellent server was gracious and the food was delicious. The blues and jazz music in the background added to the atmosphere. Fantastic choice!

Our server was fantastic but as for the food, it was pretty mid. Maybe because I’m used to authentic Cajun food in and around Lafayette but everything tasted pretty bland. We came here because of the outdoor patio but it was too packed and we had to sit inside- you probably have to reserve to sit outside at dinner.

Stopped in for brunch, asked for the courtyard. Said it was closed, but they opened it for us anyway. Shout out to Dvaughn! Great hospitality, good food and drinks. Suggest you stop in any time another local establishment tells you they have. 60 minute wait! Or better yet, save the stress and just come here anyway!

We've been to New Orleans many times and I can't believe we didn't come to Evangeline sooner! Such great service; our waitress introduced me to their house-infused vodka, and it was the best drink I've ever had. The food was amazing with the perfect amount of creole heat. We will be back!

Food was average and a bit overpriced Not what I expected for NOLA . Did not receive any bread which I know trivial but a nice touch and expected. Food was averaged seasoned. Probably will skip next

Loved Evangeline's atmosphere and food! We had concerns because Google showed they were closed as did their hours listed on their website. I called 4 times and left a message... no answer and no call back. Fortunately they were open and Open Table was accurate :-) GM who sat us only had to say that they were updating the info and it would take 5 days.
