Not good value here! Extremely disappointed. There was good and bad. Good: sitting at oyster bar was fun. Great interaction with shuckers. The alligator blackened was very good. The red beans and rice was very good. BAD: Chargrilled oysters were at the bottom for me compared to other spots around here. One was burnt so bad it wasn't edible. We ordered the sampler plate. The crawfish ettoufe sampler had not one piece of crawfish in it. Ordered a BOWL of seafood gumbo, which was supposed to have crab meat and shrimp, not ONE piece of shrimp and the fish was some kind of whitefish, NOT CRAB. It was $15!! Total rip. We also got charged for a beer we didn't get, they didn't have the beer in stock but charged us anyway. The admin fee of 3.25% was disappointing and if it was printed on menu I didn't see it. It's NOT ON THEIR WEB MENU. Not good value here at all. Best value item on menu is the DIPA beer at $8.

Whenever we visit New Orleans, Felix's is our first visit. My husband and I particularly enjoy their oysters, available both raw and grilled. Their po'boys are also delicious. It's a must-visit for us every time.

Worst experience in 4 days in Nola. Seated at 4:30 on a Wednesday night. Took 45 minutes for food to appear after ordering. Food was cold. Side of ranch ordered with main meal took over 15 minutes to appear after cold dinner was finally delivered to table and server reminded twice. Food was average at best. If I could give them a zero rating i would.

We got Oyster Rockefeller and the Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta. The oysters were not good at all as the spinach was thrown on top like a salad and weren't completely cooked or chopped down small. The pasta and sauce were nothing special and the chicken was dry. The chicken also didn't taste like "blackened" should, it tasted salted then browned on the grill. Our waiter was nice but I'm shocked this place had such good ratings which is why we went in the first place.

Don’t get the oysters here .. They are absolutely disgusting and not worth the price at all. The seafood gumbo had a lot of shrimp shells inside and the flavor was just lacking . customer service could have been better as well.

Excellent food. We had the chargrilled oysters and shared the bayou sampler. The service was great. We sat at the bar upstairs. Next time we visit New orleans, we'll definitely come back.

We went to the Felix’s at the French Quarter the evening of 4/16/24. Not having been back to New Orleans for a few years, I was excited to return for the char grilled oysters. We have been multiple times in the past and the food has been great, and staff so friendly but unfortunately not this time. When arriving, there was an African American female hostess with glasses. Multiple tables were open but she told us we would have to wait for a 2 top table to be cleaned. We asked why we couldn’t sit at a 4 top, when she had seated other parties with 2 people at the 4 top tables. She smirked and refused to provide us with respond, instead just ignoring us. We made the decision to go elsewhere and when telling her same, she again just smirked as though she was proud of her actions. When we told the couple behind us of what happened, they also left the location and the hostess continued to smirk about her decision to treat us as she had. I made the mistake of calling the Lakefront location, instead of the French Quarter, and spoke to the supervisor. She was appalled by the fact an employee of Felix’s would treat customers as we were treated. She said the situation was totally mishandled and if it had been her location, she would have marched up front and made the situation right. She also recommended I write this review to advise the owner of what had happened. We have since left a voicemail for management, with no response but this type of customer service will keep me from returning. Instead, we went to Acme around the corner where the staff was friendly, food was great, service was efficient, and we weren’t discriminated against as we were by that hostess. Highly recommend Acme if you are in the area and looking for oysters and/or po boys! This situation was totally uncalled for by an employee in customer service when the restaurant wasn’t busy, and we were willing, paying customers.

It's a toss-up between Felix's and Acme for my favorite Oyster bar in New Orleans. I first went to Felix's decades ago, and I go to both when in New Orleans. At Felix's, I always start with a half dozen each of raw, char-broiled, and Oysters Bienville, and if still hungry, I get a Shrimp Po-boy. Oyster prices have increased greatly since Covid, but you get what you pay for, and Felix's oysters, for me, are as good as they come.

Super fresh raw oysters, and buttery chargrilled oysters, can't beat that. Also, the fried shrimp is soo damn crispy. Out of the soup trio - seafood gumbo, chicken/andouille gumbo, and turtle soup, the seafood gumbo was best.My favorite drinks hands down, are the Hurricane and the Treme. Wait staff is super fast and friendly. A few bugs were flying around the place, and it might smell a little funky, but hey, it's the French quarter. Great times at Felix's.
