Went there for dinner with a childhood friend last week.We started with an order of 4 of the appetizers intending to do a tapas kind of thing for dinner. (Everything but the pate). The server was adamant that we had to select an entree. We explained that we wanted to look at the menu some more.Truth be told, I had looked at the menu and honestly nothing spoke to me. I'm a bit of a simpleton and prefer simple food cooked well. The offerings here are a lot of things, simple isn't one of them. After a bit of a stand off, the server departed in a huff with our order. The appetizers were good, but like everything else there is just too much going on for me. Too many flavors competing on your tongue.Eventually we ordered gumbo and a caprese salad. The gumbo was simply okay. I had had a significantly better cup of gumbo at a popular restaurant in bucktown the night before. In addition there was a very slight fishy taste to the gumbo telling me it wasn't the freshest thing in the world. The caprese salad was fine except for the balsamic vinegar, which was the refined version that is sweet. Typically the refined is put on ice cream and such. Don't know if it really works on a salad, definitely not for me.I guess this all would have been ok if the bill for 3 people wasn't $300.Not recommended.

PATRIOTS SHOULD NOT FREQUENT THIS ESTABLISHMENT !Unbelievable. We were shown to our table and the gentleman server introduced himself. After exchanging the usual pleasantries he took the liberty of giving us his political opinions regarding the upcoming election without any hesitation and consideration to our opinions. We don’t think it is the right thing to do as an employee to spout your political opinions on others while working.Suffice it to say we simply walked out.We were there to enjoy a nice meal not have a political debate.

Completely exceptional dining experience. I am so glad we found this little gem. The menu is set daily, based on what is fresh. And it is made to perfection. Our server, Rene, was extremely kind, and engaging. I truly didn’t expect such a good experience, considering the atmosphere - candidly it’s very ~meh~. But I considered that part of its charm. Also, the prices are totally fair and reasonable. Don’t sleep on this place. It’s so so so good.

The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant in a house. Excellent attention and knowledgeable service. The gumbo was excellent which is why we went but the Traiteur Fish and cassoulet were equally as delicious!

Amazing in every way. Must try dishes include the roasted duck, duck gumbo, duck fries. They basically mastered duck. Service was perfect. The ambiance was great. A must visit destination for any foodie in New Orleans.

I ordered duck gumbo and asked multiple questions. What kind of duck? Is the sausage peeled? The manager did not know the answer to either question. The gumbo soup was bitter. The duck was chewy--normal. I informed Gabrielle I found the soup bitter. She did not respond to my query until I asked twice, and she said the roux is very dark but not burnt. If a gumbo tastes bitter the roux is burned. The bread and butter was delicious. The club soda was very refreshing, but the glass of Pinot Noir average. The menu changes daily or weekly; the staff was discussing the day's menu for a salad carefully.Parking: Put everything in the trunk.

This restaurant does not get the attention it deserves. The food is simply incredible, ever single dish we ordered was perfect. The dark roux gumbo, the sweet and savory shrimp pie, the winter salad with locally sourced seasonal greens and fruits. The dinning room offers a cozy and intimate experience with incredible service. One of our favorite restaurants in the City.

The dining space is small, the neighborhood is questionable and parking is a bit janky. But with that said, the charm, coziness and customer service balanced things out. There was a host of items on the menu that were premade with pork, which was a little limiting. But I really enjoyed the BBQ shrimp pie which was simultaneously sweet and savory. My favorite of all the dishes tried. They have an interesting take on bread pudding, where they add apples. I wasn't a huge fan. But overall, the food and cocktails were good and the space was really inviting.

We wanted to like this restaurant, but the service was poor, even though the restaurant was half full on a Saturday night of a holiday weekend. Definitely more of a local spot as the server basically disappeared once he learned we were out of town. The crab bisque was excellent but oddly served with a regular - not a soup - spoon; we couldn’t get the waiter’s attention to request soup spoons. The traiteur fish was quite good, but my husband’s pasta dish was supposed to include lobster (1 small piece), shrimp (2 pieces), and scallops 2 or 3) - he was very disappointed. We had planned to order dessert but based on the poor service, we chose to pay and leave. Very overpriced.
