This place is off the beaten path but worth the trip. Great atmosphere, great staff, and fantastic food. Steaks are excellent, and well worth the visit.

My son was celebrating his moving up celebration and I wanted to begin a tradition of eating at a nice restaurant for these special moments. The hostess at Crescent City Steakhouse was very nice and she quickly seated us. However, I must agree with a previous reviewer that the dining room has lots of noise. I am not sure if it is acoustics, size of dining room, patrons or a combination of factors however, if you desire a quiet restaurant I am not sure this would be the proper choice. We took a look at the menu and three of us decided on ribeye steaks and one selected the filet mignon. The waiter was prompt with our orders but I was disappointed with his service after the food was brought to our table. He definitely did not pay attention to details and my glass remained empty for some time. I truly had higher expectations for service. The filet mignon was the best however, the ribeye did not live up to the expectations of what one might eat at a steakhouse. Overall our experience was ok but I definitely did not depart with the mindset of returning. If you desire just to go out and eat, yes Crescent City Steakhouse is acceptable but for those special occasions it is a no for me.

We did take an Uber to get there as it's a distance from Bourbon Street. It is definitely deceptive as far as seating. BTW, they have curtained-off booths---if you want privacy. Our waitress was terrific! The food was exceptional! Highly recommend.

My date and I visited based on a recommendation. The interior is average but it is LOUD! The place was not quite full but I measured an ambient sound level of 81-85 dB. Our waiter asked us to look straight at him and yell so he could hear us. Not exactly a romantic, peaceful environment. We ordered a strip steak and a filet, both medium rare. Both arrived severely undercooked, and both had to go back to the kitchen. On redelivery, the strip steak was still only rare versus medium-rare, but I decided to live with it. The filet was still cold and red in the center...I think it heard it "moo" once when it was stabbed with a fork. It went back a second time and was redelivered rare, not medium-rare. We decided two attempts were enough and stuck with it. The waiter never apologized or offered any kind of compensation for this. No comped meal, no free drink or dessert, nothing. All he said was, "Thank you for telling me," as though he was giving me an "atta boy" for being willing to speak up. The side dishes, asparagus and potato au gratin were spectacularly unspectacular, and seemed like the response to, "Well, we need to serve SOMETHING to go with the steaks, don't we?" Such a shame. Two high-quality pieces of prime beef were ruined by amateurish and indifferent preparation, even after the kitchen had THREE shots at one of them. It might have been forgivable had management showed the least bit of concern, but customer care does not seem to be one of their priorities. There are too many wonderful restaurants in New Orleans. Don't waste a meal at this one.

Great steak , a truly neighborhood feel and service with a smile and story. The restaurant is a testament to doing something and getting it right. The building and inside is very unique. Go taste and see YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.

The atmosphere is throw-back, with oldies playing in the background, a jukebox in the corner. The building is an older building but there is such history there, as this is a family-owned business for generations. I ordered the filet mignon & my husband ordered the ribeye. Both were the best steaks we've ever had in our lives: the meat was so tasty & tender! The service was wonderful as well! Our desserts were amazing as well!

It was supposed to be a romantic dinner. Both my date and I were on the toilet all night. I was p*ssing outta my arse 4 times in 12 hours. Even woke me up out of a dead sleep, thank god. The only thing that was good was the service by the wait staff. The steaks were subpar, no seasoning, not even pepper. Definitely not worth the price. The sides were mediocre. The noise was so bad I could barely hear my date. The ambience was dated and the restroom filthy. The hostess (I assume was a family member) was cold and impersonable. Although attentive, the wait staff was so somber it was like someone died, that or they absolutely hate their jobs. There are so many other steakhouses that are much better for the price. This is at best, a two star dining experience with a five star price. Don't bother, it will disappoint.

A local spot - and a GREAT dinner! The drinks are good, quick and fairly priced. The service is impeccable. And the steaks - AMAZING!!! Perfectly cooked and served on a sizzling with butter plate. Check out the curtained-off tables. Very nice!!

Service not so good!! Indifferent wait staff.....a hag for a greeter, and air blowing on our table so hard, we could not enjoy our meal!! Never again will I drop $300-$400 to be treated this way........The glories of Crescent City Steak is in the past and behind them...........definitely will go somewhere else!!

Was expecting a above average steak but it was not. Service was excellent. Reasonably priced a-la-carte with good selection of sides and deserts. Parking lot very convenient adjacent to restaurant. Tables were much closer together than I would have liked.

It was amazing. We took my parents for their first time. They were overly pleased with the experience. We try to visit Charlie's at least twice a year.

Visited Friday, November 8, 2019 for date night, with reservations. Met at the door by a snarling security guard and a hostess wearing a pajama-like outfit. The waiter, didn’t catch his name as he spent about as much time with us as the ink to dry on the credit card receipt. We informed the waiter about a particular diet, of which he was I’m accommodating; rather than ask the kitchen, he insisted that an additional charge would be incurred. Although that was acceptable, waiter didn’t have a solution-or any interest in assisting. Our Chateaubriand was ordered medium rare, arriving a bloody mess (not the cute Brit expression). The “famous” potatoes could (should have been) some microwave OreIda and the four (4) asparagus spears encompassed a very disappointing $150 dinner. If you want a mediocre, at best, steakhouse experience at top dollar-this is your place! We discussed after leaving and concluded that this experience was probably the norm, rather than the exception and have no desire to think of returning-others are encouraged to choose any other place than Crescent City Steak House! Truly disappointing!

This used to be the best Steakhouse in New Orleans for quality & price. Not so much anymore. The Filet my wife had was very good, The Ribeye I had was not so much ( thin, scrawny and looked like it had been thrown on the floor and stomp on. The taste was GOOD, not great as they used to be. I can't recommend this place anymore

Excellent choice for authentic New Orleans steak entrees. Best choices include rib eye, strip sirloin and T-bone. House or Caesar salads are a nice start. Service was personal without being invasive.

Throwback, retro vibe, including a free jukebox (not loud). Their focus is steaks and they do them exquisitely. Attentive, friendly service.
