I’ve been trying Greek fox a lot lately and this little gem did not disappoint. The lady was patient with me because I’m new to Mediterranean. I love that fact you can dress you gyro with your choice of toppings. Food was fresh and delicious

You basically build your own wrap. The food was amazing and very fresh. The employees were very nice and helpful. I loved the homemade pita :)

Gita Pita is located inside the RedZone convenience store. I chose the Chicken Shawarma bowl with hummus, Greek fries, and Falafel. Yum! The food was really good and fairly priced.I failed to get her name, but the employee was attentive, and we had a nice chat while my food was being prepared. While I was there, a young man came in who eats there a few times weekly (you know it's good when that happens!).I'd recommend GitaPita.

Found inside a liquor store (with a great selection, if you're a drinker), Gita Pita is a hidden gem! They're a small casual space in the corner of the store with tables and seating if you want to eat there, but most of the people we saw while waiting on our food were take-out customers. Gita Pita doesn't really feel like a restaurant, and I think most other customers agree. It's more like one of the stands at the food court in a mall. They offer a handful of Mediterranean dishes, and from what I saw, they were popular. Tons of orders were coming in and people were filtering in and out to pick them up! However, we already had lunch, so we just ordered some falafels. Each falafel is only 80 cents, and they are handmade and fried right in front of you! Of course, they have the traditional tahini and tzatziki sauces, but they also have a garlic sauce, which was my favorite. You've got to try the garlic sauce! The falafels and sauces were fantastic. Crisp, fresh, delicious! To top it all off, the lady making all of this happen all by herself was so sweet. Despite being so busy, she was very cheerful and made our wait time go by quickly with her friendly conversation!

Tasty Chicken Shawerma ??

it really doesn't look like much, it is on the side of a car mechanic, and inside a liquor store, but it had one of the best falafel sandwiches in Nola.Unfortunately, it does not seem to be as available as it was before, so many of times, you were left with lesser alternatives. But if you want to try your luck, you should start with the falafel.

Ordered a Chicken Shawarma bowl through Uber Eats and it was awful!! The chicken and the rice was extremely bland, no seasoning. The bowl was full of pickles, onions and cabbage; barely any chicken or rice. The garlic sauce was super runny. I counted on the good reviews when ordering and it's a huge disappointment.

I placed an online order for in-store pickup of a Chicken Swarma and a side order of 2 falafel. The wrap itself was good but the chicken and the cabbage/pickle/onion topping were off - simultaneously under and over seasoned. The result was really unpleasant to try and eat. Also, they were out of falafel. No big deal. It happens. But rather than offer a substitution or refund they just said to take it up with Door Dash (their online ordering interface). My biggest problem though was just how incredibly rude they were. New Orleans has way too many great food options to waste any time with a place where the staff acts like your presence is an imposition. I tried this place because of a recommendation from a local food writer whose judgement is impeccable. So perhaps I just caught them on a bad day? Regardless though, I won't be back. The bad food and rude, indifferent staff is too much for me to give them another shot.

The pita tastes SO GOOD. Crispy pita and super juicy meat 1000/10 recommend. Also really cheap.

I was ecstatic to hear Gita Pita had a location in Orleans parish. I was 1st introduced at the Chalmette location. REALLY missed their food. As before I vacuum every morsel of my shawarma chicken bowl (hummus, tender chicken, baba ghanoush, fresh veggies, garlic sauce and dot hot sauce, fresh REAL pita bread.) Prices are still reasonable and service remains exceptional. The food is prepared to order so it is a very short wait but so dam worth it. Available seating in a clean spacious area. Purchased drinks from the store counter. Gita Pita is located inside the Red Zone. If you want to introduce your palate to a whole other level of herbs, spices and flavor, I highly recommend⚜?
