I bought a sweet potato fried pie from my local store that was a Haydels pie.The pie was EMPTY! Two bites in and it was like they took and put a layer with a butter knife, as much as you'd butter your toast and that was it..And I didn't even notice until I was about to throw an entire $2.49 pie in the trash away, that it was outdated by 6 days. I bought it today!Never again will I buy another Haydels pie.I will go back to Hubigs which I did buy 3 of those too and they were very fresh and packed inside.Very disappointed!

We were travelling from DFW for a surprise birthday bash. I called 6 or 7 bakerys in the area and Haydel's was the only one to accomodate. Not only were the very kind but she took my vision to another level. The cake was amazingly moist and light, not to mention beautiful. Thank you all! We were more than pleased!

Love this place THE BEST KING CAKES ... Unfortunately we've moved from Beautiful New Orleans due to a job transfer but we had 2of these beauties sent to us in New Jersey for my Birthday to share with our family and friends . Everyone went crazy these cakes are pure freshness you can smell the butter and all the goodness they put in to give you this Fabulous piece of New Orleans .. Trust me if you don't know do yourself a favor and order this Staple next year during Mardi Gras season ..

This place is always busy. I think it's the name and tradition. But I didn't find their donuts to be all that great. And the king cake..pretty average, except for the price. They on the high end. Parking is limited and customers service is just ok.

From New Orleans, I grew up on Haydel’s King Cake. Moved out of state and drove 4 hours to ONLY get filled King Cakes for myself and other people. Drove back the same day so when I got home I had to dig in !! To my surprise the flavor’s I got were maybe an inch of mix on top of the cake. After I bragged so much on these cakes I ended up being embarrassed.

Besides the great baked goods. They have a cute selection of gift ideas all about New Orleans or for yourself but, very cool stuff. I had the sweet potato hand pie, awesome! Loved loved!! My other favorite is fudge turtles!

I went to New Orleans for a conference and I wanted to bring back a King Cake, but I didn't want to carry it on the plane. Haydel's let me pick the ship date and sent UPS fresh to my office. Not only great service, but the King Cake was AWESOME! Definitley will order from them again.
