The restaurant is a hidden gem. The breakfast and amotsphere are amazing. The wait staff; Cherrybomb, Diesel and Unicorn make you feel at home and have excellent energy. We stumbled upon the restaurant and plan to return before ending our trip!

Friendliest and most accommodating staff and servers in NOLAUpdate to this post.I brought a friend back to Jimmy J's after a year of raving about it to anyone and everyone for over a year and WOW, what a disappointment.Although still flavourful, the grits were watery and although cooked a second time, still watery. I picked up my fork as I like to cut up my shrimp a little and I was instructed by the server "you're eating it wrong anyway, Shrimp and Grits are meant to be eaten with a spoon" and I was tossed a spoon. I can overlook the food quality, it may have been a different cook, however, after 40 years of using utensils, I know how to use them and what utensils I prefer to use to eat my meals

I went here for a quick breakfast and ordered the steak skillet/bowl that came with cheese, eggs, and fried potatoes. It was very flavorful but, the portion size was a little skimpy. The service was quick but, the restaurant overall is very small.
