Jacob and I took the ferry out to Algiers and were strolling around the area with some iced tea when we saw the sign for a Friday night fish fry. We got there right after five inside the building and we were surprised to see so many people inside. The fried catfish was so dope and fresh- ours were just served from the guy out back frying up the goods. The crawfish boulletes were also amazing!!! We wish we got more! It was $1 for 2- they are like crawfish hush puppies but so much better and fresher. Didn't care too much about the cole slaw or green beans or side of bread since we just wanted the fish. The catfish was sooooo good! Such a random but delicious find! We got it all I a box to-go and ate in the sunny southern lawns outside. The guys, elderly men mostly, were super nice but didn't get a chance to talk to them too much since we felt a little strange inside and got everything to-go.

Don't know much about KoC except they do the Lenten fish Fries. It's a bunch of old guys cooking up fish, coleslaw, beans and crawfish balls. We've both been craving fish N chips so I suggested we get a couple of plates to go. This is not $$$$ style preparation. It's just a bunch of old fellas making stuff they like. Having said that, the food was good. The Girly loved the fish and crawfish balls and we both thought it was a very nice change of pace. The fish had a touch skin on it that snapped when you took a bite...but the batter was crunchy. I'd definitely like to eat that again. Gave it a great texture. There was also a sweet deaf gentleman who was selling whole cake slices for 50 cents. It was, all in all, a nice experience. One we hope to enjoy again.
