I was expecting more from my meal at Lola's based on the great reviews. It was disappointing on all fronts: food, service, and atmosphere. Especially for the price. We got the brussels sprouts veggie tapas, and we didn't care for the flavor at all. For the main course, we got the duck breast and seafood paella. The duck breast was tasty, but presentation was very poor. Also, it was served with only 3 asparagus stems. The mashed potatoes were just okay. The seafood paella was tasty, but I've had better. The wine was great. The service was slow -- it took a while to get our second round of wine, and we didn't get the sharing plates we asked for.The atmosphere was poor overall. We chose indoor dining so we could be warmer, but the AC blasts very cold so we had to wear our coats. I was uncomfortable enough to ask them to turn the air down, but they said no because then the kitchen would get too hot. Also, we were seated at a table with a bench that is not cushioned. The bench was also too low, and the back cushion kept falling into the gap between the bench and the wall. In addition, the place was kinda dusty and generally the furnishings were poor quality. Visually the place is beautiful, but the discomfort and lack of quality outweighs that.

Lola's is great! Their server claire is wonderful and a joy to be around. She made us feel very special. The food was fantastic with beautiful presentation. Be careful eating the peppers they are very spicy!! The place is very quaint and cozy, will be returning.

We live in the neighborhood and booked an outdoor reservation for two. We walked from our home to the restaurant. While waiting at the host stand a walk up of two was seated outside. They did not have a reservation. When we checked-in the host informed us they had no outside seating available and would need to be seated inside. I shared we would be willing to wait on our outside reserved table. He shared we had booked standard and not outside. I showed him the reservation and that it did indeed show outside. He blamed OpenTable and said they did not allow outside reservations. It was awkward and not much hospitality. We decided to eat somewhere else and it will be some time before we give LOLA another try.

Ordered the garlic soup and it was extremely salty but I sucked it up and ate it with bread. The lamb stew was also inedibly salty to which the waiter agreed and offered to replace it. I got the linguine which was ok but not worth finishing. Was still charged for the original dish though because the waiter explained that the linguine was $1 cheaper so he left the original lamb dish on. Honestly don't really care about a $1 but most places would have given a discount or the entire dish off.

The night before I called the restaurant to make a reservation. Someone answered and said that they had tables available and what time would I want. I replied with 7, and they said that was fine. My partner and I get at the restaurant at 7 and see a huge line of people. We assumed that they didn’t make a reservation, but we’re quickly told that everyone in line had reservations. There were about thirty tables in total with only three waiters, and no hostesses in sight. People are getting sat about every thirty minutes; and slowly but surely made it up the line. As we waited we talked with the other guests and they all had reservations for 7. An hour after our reservation was suppose to start a woman walks up, possibly a manager arriving for her shift, and acts shocked that no one was sitting people. She eventually sits us in the back of the outside in a small alcove. We were shoved out of sight and mind. Two different waiters came by, looked at us, and left attending to other people in the alcove but not us. After another forty minutes of being ignored we got up and left. With how many other restaurants there are in New Orleans, there is no excuse to have to wait an hour and forty minutes and not even talk to a waiter. Go spend your time, and money, any where else. Even McDonald’s has better service.

Lola's seems to be in a down turn. It has definitely been better in the past. The food is hit or miss depending on what you order. The resturant was short staffed that evening, but inspite of that, the staff was very on top of guest issues or concerns.

I stopped here on a recommendation of the local, on my bicycle tour from Canada to Argentina. They have a nice little patio. Great if you have a dog with you.The server was great too. I didn't have to make any choices myself. He was quick with a drink and food recommendation, and came around when needed. He seemed to know when food was in my mouth and never bothered me then. The garlic soup and brussel sprout special was pretty darn good. The garlic soup exceeding my expectations.I got the one person paella was a little on the small side. Although I'm a big eater, so it may be alright for some.Definitely worth checking out.

We had a great time visiting lots of touristy spots for dinner, but found places like Lola's to be our absolute favorites of all. Lola's has a really calm, but fun ambience, the food was great, and our waiter, George, was the best! Super friendly staff all around. I'd highly recommend Lola's to both locals and tourists alike!

Lola's is a small restaurant so it is quite noisy but very energetic. A fun place to enjoy a meal! It was the best meal that we had in NOLA and we ate a several well-reviewed restaurants. I had the Argentina salmon and it was superb, possibly some of the best I have ever had. I hail from the Pacific Northwest so am not unfamiliar with quality salmon. Our only regret is that we were unable to eat there a second time as we were only in NOLA for five day. Loved this place.

One of our favorite restaurants in Mid-City. However, the service was very lacking. On Valentine's Night, of all nights, there was no spark or magnetism with the staff. Our sever was lackluster at best - and reinforced our intuition that we should have gone across the street to Cafe Degas. We come to Lola's quite often and have been very disappointed lately. I've written many reviews on Lola's over the years and the owner hasn't bothered to respond once - whether favorable or not. Time for other options.

What an excellent little gem of a restaurant. Service and food are always on point. Vibes are immaculate. I once dined here during a rainstorm, the restaurant lost power for about 20 minutes but service was hardly interrupted!! Our food came out of the kitchen and our server remained attentive as if nothing happened. It was a really cool experience.
