I love this place! Everything from the ambience to the delicious food. The staff is so nice and the food is fast. We had Molly serve us. The quality is top tier and the food is fresh and steaming hot. We can not wait to comeback. I love how you get an almond cookie and fortune cookie at the end lol.

I came an hour before close with a really large group that also turned out to be a little rowdy. The staff accommodated us and were extremely hospitable, the food was very delicious and reasonably priced, and our server Marisa was especially friendly and attentive. I look forward to coming again (with a smaller group!)

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! This was our second time dining at this place in a week. We were very excited to eat here again but the quality wasn't as good as the first time. Most of the food lacked flavor, including the appetizers. The first time we came, the drinks were terrible so we didn't order them the second time. When we received our check, we paid in cash and instead of the server handling the bill, the owner took it. Unusual. She also took the tip we left our server. When we asked the server if he got his tip, he said no. We had assumed the owner gave him the tip we left. The owner then came over and proceeded to argue with us telling us we left less cash than we had. I'd counted it multiple times before the owner took it. We also knew how much cash we were carrying. I've NEVER had this happen in my life. We ended up having to leave ANOTHER $20 tip for the server. If you are going to eat here, DON'T PAY WITH CASH. If you are paying with cash, make sure multiple people at your table count your cash before the owner takes it. Make sure your server gets their tip! Completely unprofessional and we felt violated as we were leaving. We are locals and will tell everyone we know about this and will never return.

Miss Shirley’s is in my mother’s words “outrageous.” It reminds me of old school New York City Chinese restaurants.
My son’s best friend and his family came to visit us, as we relocated to New Orleans 6 months ago. We wanted them to experience the family meals that my Mom would host, so after reading the reviews, we made a reservation at Miss Shirley’s. It was an INCREDIBLE experience! We had been searching for really good Dim Sum, and we have found it at Miss Shirley’s!! The service is among the BEST, and if you are lucky enough, which we were, you will get personalized attention from Miss Sisley! She touched every table, and her energy and laughter draw you in and make you feel very special. The ambiance, food, and service are too-notch! Love, love this place! We have found our home away from home!Parking: Easy street parking!
Busy and lots of people..Food really awesome..as in authentic. I was there during " lunch " ( 11:00 to 2:30). Ms. Shirley is there working and hostessing.
Two of us got the following items: Steamed Dragon Dumplings,Stuffed Peppers , Crabmeat Udon Noodles. All the food items were delicious and the service was very good. We sat at the bar and the place was busy on Saturday as was expected. I ordered shrimp fried rice to go and I found it not to be so flavorful. I added some soy sauce and sesame seed oil to it and it kicked it up to a tastier stage. This is one of the few places that puts bean sprout in their fried rice which was a normal staple years ago among many Chinese restaurants. At the Royal China restaurant where Miss Shirley originally had her place, the fried rice was tastier. I want to mention that when we were seated we were given 2 complimentary pork dumplings and upon our concluding our meal given complimentary beignets. Thanks for the good food and service Miss Shirley.

Royal China on Veteran's version 2.0 = Miss Shirley's on Megazine Street 1.0, after a short return from retirement. The meal was fantastic: Accurate seasoning, fresh ingredients, accurate texture, Al Dente when should be, attention to detail of 3 accompanied sauces, complementary reverse osmosis bottle water for the table, not silverware but goldware, well designed menu, gluten free or available as option, round tables for 6+ and rectangle tables for 2 or 4, everything just very nicely done. Miss Shirley, you have outdone yourself. I am sure you got plenty help from your daughter. Right-on! Many more happy years!
