The service at Mr John's is impeccable, I wish I could say the same for the steak and asparagus . I order a petite filet Rare plus and it arrived medium and as it sat on the sizzling plate it cooked even more . The asparagus was so over cooked it was yellow and stringy. It was not yellow asparagus.very loud .

It was my first time there, and I must say absolutely pleased. My reservations were accomdated fully. Our server was AMAZING, I wish I knew his name to give kudos. Steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Cocktails were priced well and were wonderful. Overall, it was a really great experience.

If your thinking bout making a reservation read this review ! I went here last night had a reservation for 9 arrived about 8:40 was immediately seated ! Nice place low lighting very nice upscale intimate New Orleans style restaurant ! Sat down my server was great I ordered onion rings and fried green tomato appetizer onions are 10/10 must try best flavor of onions rings I've had in life perfectly fried ! Fried green tomato as well 10/10 loaded with crab on top hint when ever you order lump crab dishes here they are not stingy I got lump crab on my steak as well n it was loaded with crab . After the apps I got the bone in ribeye with creamed spinach and Freddy Mac the creamed spinach is omg I'm a spinach lover tho 10/10 the Freddy Mac I give 8/10 only because I feel the sausage in it makes it a tad too salty with the amount of cheese that's already in it now down to the steak man that thing was the best ever 20/10 hands down I order mines well done lol yea I know don't kill me but it was the most un dry well done steak I have ever had if that makes any sense full of flavor you definitely can taste the quality here on top of the make sure you get the truffle butter to go with it if your a butter lover like me that truffle butter with the steak makes a easy Ten stars !!!! But hey don't take my word for it just got my whole overall experience 12/10 exceptional service here the people know their job it do it well I never had one single issue definitely enjoyed my night my food is posted here thanks Mr. John's hats off !!

My friend's and I visited Mr. John's this past weekend to celebrate our friend's birthday and we were utterly flabbergasted as they allowed someone to bring a dog into the resturant. Although wearing a service vest, the dog clearly was not a service dog as it was a Maltese poodle of some sort, it is highly unlikely a dog under 20lbs is a valiant service animal, maybe an emotional support animal at best but not service animal. The dog was leashed however, the owner allowed slack so the dog was able to roam and be within less than a foot of other paying patrons. I am appalled that an animal was allowed in. Thankfully, we had a great server who noticed how off putting it was to us and moved us to another table where I did not have to encounter a dog approaching me or near my table as I ate dinner. Our server Lance was amazing, a real GEM! Very accommodating and friendly. I would give 5 stars only for the service. The food was not good at all. I ordered a medium well, Cowboy steak and it was extremely dry and lacked flavor, not worth $70. The baked potato was drenched in butter, although fully loaded, the only taste of it was butter, the Who Dat Shrimp was covered in burnt bacon and the brocoli au grautin was also flavorless. The brocoli was undercooked and drenched in butter as well. A 1st and last experience for my friends and I. Definitely not worth the $400 we collectively spent. If it was not for the kindness of our server, our entire dining experience would have been a complete and utter nightmare.

Bartender was extremely busy and short , rushed when finally asking us what we wanted to order Other guess at bar were offered compllmary meatballs and bread service. Not a good first impression!

Food was okay. Menu options were good. Our server seemed to not want to be bothered. Didn't offer much help unless we specifically asked for something. No cocktail menu available. Bread pudding was not warm when served.

Always great food and great service. Crab cakes are our favorite appetizer, but there are many other good choices. Hard to pick between the steaks; all are wonderful. And there are other good entrée choices as well. Be sure to leave room for one of the great desserts.

Excellent service. Nothing was missed. Food came out on hot plates so everything stayed hot throughout our meal.

Outstanding service, sizzling steaks and delicious food were served. Two birthdays were celebrated: a meatballs with candles were served to the table. That was creative. Our ordered desserts had candles too! We felt spoiled. Our main server was fantastic, friendly and very accommodating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can't say enough. Old time charm, classy staff, table cloths. Great drinks, great wine menu. Food is cooked to perfection no matter how you ask for it to be cooked. I am a former New Yorker and lived all over the country, by FAR the best veal chop I have ever eaten. Steaks are aged well and cooked to perfection. My mouth is watering writing this review. Been here several times and always top notch. Did I mention the prices are reasonable. This is a classy joint...I highly recommend for any occasion.

This was by far one of the worst meals I have had lately. We ordered the calamari and it was fried crispy almost to the point of burnt. We then ordered a NY Strip, larger size to split, au gratin potatoes and the mushrooms. These steaks all state on the menu that they are " prime", but if they are they must be of a lower quality. This $80 steak had no flavor, flat tasting and no marbling at all. I could have gone to Dorignacs and bought one of their prime steaks with more flavor and a lesser price. The mushrooms and potatoes were just marginal at best.I don't ever remember the food being this terrible, but for a total bill of $92 per person, I will not be trying it again.
