Wanting some gumbo on my last day in Orleans. Found this nice place; we walked and it was busy on the streets due to the French Quarter Festival. Food was soo good.Pictured is French Onion soup, Gumbo, and Étouffée.

A truly fantastic place for Cajun food!Words cannot describe the heavenly goodness that is contained in the sampler. Definitely a must-have.The alligator bites had an excellent crisp. The sauce was also very flavorful. The perfect combination of crisp and meat. The bread pudding was a fantastic end to the meal.Service was excellent. Would recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area!

Five stars for Pierre Maspero’s and a galaxy of gratitude for Terri, our exceptional server who turned our visit into a truly memorable experience. Terri’s warm hospitality made our little one feel like royalty, complete with a special drawing of their logo and declaring it the ‘best sausage and biscuits’ in the world! My wife and I savored the Roast Beef Po-Boy, perfectly ‘dressed,’ and it was nothing short of spectacular. The rich history of Lafitte and Andrew Jackson envelops you in an atmosphere that is uniquely New Orleans. This place is a must-visit gem. Thanks to Terri, Pierre Maspero’s isn’t just a meal; it’s a wonderful memory in the making!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and friendly staff!

Love that they offer the Cresent City Sampler, which is a food "flight" of up to 4 staples of New Orleans cuisine. My favorite was the Crawfish Etouffee. It was so good I made sure to go back the next day to get a full meal of it.You can get food to go as well, which was very convenient the second time we dinned with them as we were in a hurry.I've been inspired to learn to make an etouffee when I get back home and will always revisit this restaurant every time I come back to New Orleans.Thank you for your hospitality and delicious food!

Win win win. Good food, great service, great atmosphere. Every trip to the quarter includes at least one meal here. Quite often outstanding but always good. A reliable performer over the years!!!

I recently dined at The Original Pierre Maspero’s in the heart of New Orleans. The restaurant, housed in a charming historic building, exudes a classic French Quarter vibe. As I settled into my seat, I eagerly anticipated a taste of authentic New Orleans cuisine. The Chicken Jambalaya was my chosen dish. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. While the flavors were decent, the texture leaned toward dryness. Moreover, the portion size left me wanting more, especially considering the price point. The ambiance, however, is where Maspero’s truly shines. The worn wooden floors, exposed brick walls, and dim lighting transport you to a bygone era. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine locals and travelers alike gathering for hearty meals and lively conversations.Service was friendly, and the staff seemed genuinely invested in ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The menu offers a range of classic New Orleans fare, including Cajun Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffée, and Red Beans and Rice. While my Chicken Jambalaya didn’t quite hit the mark, other dishes may fare better. In summary, The Original Pierre Maspero’s is worth a visit for its ambiance and historical significance. However, if you’re seeking culinary perfection, you might want to explore other options in the French Quarter.Parking: After the 19 the sidewalk parking in New Orleans is free

We stopped in tonight after reading online reviews. We were seated promptly and the server had our drinks to us very quickly. I had the Crescent City Sampler, my wife had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta, and my in-laws had the Muffaletta. Our food was on the table within 10 minutes and was fresh. Everyone raved about the quality of the food, flavors, and the atmosphere. Our waitress (can't recall her name) was great! She recommended a bier for my wife and she really liked it! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back on our next visit to New Orleans!
