This is by far the WORST poke I’ve ever had. Maybe the ratings are decent here bc most the people eating it have never had poke that was legit, or poke that actually tasted delicious… but this place ain’t it!!! What a waste of money. I have tried it two times now and I won’t ever go back, I couldn’t even eat more than a few bites of the poke bowl or soup bc it is trash. They loaded the bowl with tons of rice (that was overcooked), tuna is obviously not fresh, plus they gave very little of it, I paid extra for avocado and there was only two small pieces of it, they don’t put sufficient sauce & mix it in the bowls well so it was dry, & most the ingredients are not fresh or well balanced in bowl. It was mostly rice and some greens and very little else. Oh and the Thai soup was AWFUL too. No thank you…. It’s tragic this is the primary place for poke in NOLA

It's my go-to when I want to pretend to be healthier. Their ingredients are always fresh and have a great selection of add-ons.

I always order poke from here. But my order today came with a staple in it. King Loa Bowl

Yummers. I stopped in here because I was poking around Magazine and it was raining on my way home. The inside was definitely designed for efficiency more than aesthetics (all white interior). I liked that you could make your own bowl or use a set combo which as someone who can have a tough time making decisions was useful. Food was delicious and the "small" bowl was quite a large portion (I didn't finish it in one sitting). I wish they didn't use plastic bowls but at least I got to eat off of real silverware. Staff was friendly and largely took a stand back attitude.

Honestly if you compare this poke place to the other poke place on magazine, this one is much better and they don’t skimp on food. However, they ask for tip for to go orders? Who am I tipping? Myself?

BEST poke I've ever had in my life. I eat A LOT of poke, and none compares to the stuff I get here at Poke Loa. So much so that I've developed an addiction, one may say, to Poke Loa over the past four years. I'm probably biased, but the bowl that I always get is the absolute best! It has the best flavor and I've always found all of the ingredients to be super fresh. Here's what I get: White rice, spring mix, salmon, spicy salmon, cilantro, cucumbers, tamari, sesame oil, chili oil, crab salad, seaweed salad, edamame. red roe (or all of the tobiko they have that day), lemon miso aioli, and sesame seeds. I'm not exaggerating when I say this bowl is life changing. Try it out!

Poké Loa is a great place for a meal if you're not wanting something heavy. The food is fresh, although here lately they have been out of chili paste which is disappointing. The service is typically friendly and inviting. Most people get Poke Loa to go, so if you eat in the restaurant it's normally calm and a nice place to relax and eat. Check our Poke Loa! Can't go wrong with a regular bowl built to order!

We love poke so we were excited this place was close to our hotel. Unfortunately, this was easily some of the worst poke we have ever had. The tuna was pale pink and partially frozen -- the flavor was very off. Something else in the bowl (we never identified what) tasted musty. The miso soup had globs of what we assumed was soup base floating in it. Build your own poke is an awesome concept but this place is failing at it.

My last visit in August 2022 was with the expectation of enjoying a satisfying meal and utilizing my membership benefits to earn points. Unfortunately, my experience at this establishment was extremely disappointing due to the manager's (Spanish looking guy) refusal to use my membership login to accumulate points. He entered my phone number incorrectly and that’s how he couldn’t find my account. I asked him to try again. He got mad and made a comment that I’m looking for a free meal. Despite my polite request to utilize my membership for points accrual, the manager outright refused, providing no valid explanation for their decision. This lack of customer service and unwillingness to honor their own loyalty program left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a patron.Furthermore, the overall ambiance of the place was subpar. The seating area was poorly maintained, with unclean tables and a general lack of cleanliness. In terms of the quality of the food itself, it was mediocre at best. The ingredients lacked freshness due to lack of enough customers, they were probably left over from previous day, suggesting a lack of attention to detail and a failure to meet the expected standards of a poke bowl establishment. The portion sizes were also smaller than anticipated, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. As a customer, I believe it is essential to be treated with respect and to have one's loyalty recognized and rewarded. Unfortunately, my experience at this POKE LOA location fell short of these basic expectations. I strongly discourage others from visiting this establishment, as the lack of customer care and refusal to honor membership benefits creates a negative dining experience. In summary, the manager's refusal to utilize my membership login for points accumulation, coupled with the overall lackluster ambiance and mediocre food quality, makes this POKE LOA an establishment that I cannot recommend. I now go to the other franchise located at 701 Metairie Rd. Way better experience and food there.
