The food at Saba was delicious, simple, and fresh! The humus and pita was definitely the star of the show. I could've eaten the blue crab hummus as a meal alone. The shrimp dish was good, but not as wonderful as the rest of the meal! The green falafel was definitely a favorite as well, even if it is simpler than some of the other options. There was slight disappointment in the chicken not being available, so be prepared for disappointment if going on a weekend or busy time as they may sell out! Service was great and the restaurant has wonderful charm to it! I recommend eating in the lounge if available when making your reservations!

I dined at Saba several years back and was completely blown away with everything I ate. The pita bread was amazing. Hot and airy. The hummus outstanding. The kibbee and lamb superb. I returned recently and was very disappointed. I thought I was in a different restaurant. The pita bread was partially cooked and heavy. The hummus mediocre. The menu was completely different almost unrecognizable from my earlier experience. I have to believe that if Elon Shaya were present that night he would not have allowed that meal out of his kitchen.

Exquisite and wonderful mouth feel. Mmmmmmm. Yummy food and great service. I meant to make this post awhile ago. Staff here are wonderfully nice and funny. The ambiance is nice and keeps a pleasant theme around the restaurant. This place is great for if you're visiting Nola or just want to find a nice spot to eat at. Saba by far has the best pita in the city. I've looked and no other place has better pita. But if you don't believe me then you should definitely give this place a try.

I visited Saba many times as my daughter attended college nearby (it was our go to restaurant and #1 recommendation to all). However this visit quickly changed our minds. We came here for lunch for a special occasion. Our waitress was not only inattentive, but forgetful both of us and any extra requests. On top of that, we had an accident where a bus boy spilt maple syrup on my daughter's sweater, hair and even my wife and myself. We were brought water to clean up the situation ourselves and never checked on after the fact. We were left with incredibly sour taste in our mouths as nothing was comped. I expected better from an Alon Shaya owned restaurant.

Got severe food poisoning from the lamb kofta that I am still working through 24 hours later. Sat at the table for about 20 minutes before the waitress took our drink orders while she was visibly scrolling through instagram about 10 yards away, which was a recurring theme. The aesthetic of the place was nice i suppose but I honestly dont think I'll be able to stomach israeli food again.

This is the best restaurant in New Orleans, maybe even the entire south. Alon Shaya’s authentic Israeli cuisine is so damn delicious. Thanks for bringing me a taste of home, Chef!

We wanted to eat at the bar, but Saba was short one bartender so we took a table instead. It turned out to be a great decision, because we had Joshua as our server who was as attentive and helpful as if we were sitting across from the bartenders. It was a truly memorable Easter meal. I cannot say enough about Saba's! WT

Great food and atmosphere! Stumbled upon this place while walking down Magazine Street and it was perfect. We shared the mushroom humus and both ate the fattoush salad (added shrimp to my bf's). Very good and refreshing. Service was great too.

This place really ticks off all the boxes. The menu has something for everyone, service is spot on, the dining is a beautiful experience whether you're inside or out. I recommend ordering 5 items off the dipping menus (in addition to your meal). The hard part is deciding which ones! Every single thing we ordered including drinks was truly delish.

The food was undeniably delicious, no doubt about that! However, the service was absolutely terrible. The waiter was incredibly rude and seemed to think that he owned the restaurant. He not only interfered with our ordering process but also told us how to eat our food. I mean, come on, who does that? It's time for the management to train their staff on how to treat their guests with respect and professionalism.

My wife and I came for an unexpectedly light lunch. I don't often gripe about small portions at big prices, but ... The salatim were very small and the grilled shrimp: $25 for four shrimps and a lot of labneh. The service was fine. Nothing remarkable. The room is nice. What impresses me most about Saba is the person who wrote the menu - to make it sound so much better than it is.
