Absolutely loved this place. We spent a week in the Garden District and would have eaten here every single day had they not been closed Mondays. It's a great spot to grab a quick breakfast/lunch while on the way to other adventures. Can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches/bagels. AND they have Utz potato chips! Great music and staff is awesome. They were also on the St. Patrick's Day parade route.

The Chicago Italian Beef's are soo delicious! They just need to have separate sweet and hot peppers. The combo peppers are ok if that's all I can get.

We ordered Rachel’s sandwich. It was pretty good. The only problem is they should get a bigger space because it’s very crowded and there’s literally no place to sit and enjoy the sandwich.

You will never find a better sandwich in Greater New Orleans area. If you're lucky, owner Dan Stein will be the one to take your order (in a deadpan sort of way that gives real personality to the restaurant). If you're not a NOLA native, do try some local Cajun and Creole cuisine. But do NOT miss out on this terrific NY style deli owned by a true mensch.

Best sandwich ever. You cannot do better. Perfectly balanced for flavor and size. I will come back to New Orleans just for this Italian Hoagie

Local deli with a Philly vibe. For people who have never been to Philly I'm sure they really enjoy it. As a Philly native, it was not a true Philly hoagie. They say they're are amorosso rolls from Philly. The roll was fully toasted. We don't toast our rolls for hoagies. We will toast the inside for a cheesesteak. The only reason to toast the whole roll would be to hide the fact that the roll is a little bit stale. As a result, when eating the sandwich, the bottom of the roll split open. The hoagie was also a little light on meat and the meat was abnormally salty. The prosciutto was a good quality and the sharp cheese was good. Everyone raves about this place and I'm happy I tried it, but I don't think I would come back, I can't say that I enjoyed my sandwich. And if I do come back, I'll stick with a sandwich on traditional bread and see how that goes... tbc

This place was recommended by a Lyft driver I had. Finally got around to going, because my brother is in town. It was phenomenal! Definitely 10/10 ?. The Sam sandwich hits on all levels!

Steins deli makes real deal sandwiches. We had their version of the muffaletta and the mumbler, both pictured. Very casual environment, and definitely more of a to-go place or quick bite, but that was perfect for us. We even saw Dan himself! Left him alone, but it was cool to see him after watching him on Queer Eye.

Loved this little deli/grocery! The interior was pretty grunge, and the staff were all so nice. The lox bagel on a bialy was delicious! They also have a little grocery section that was fun to shop.

Amazing breakfast and lunch place. Deceptively busy because of take out orders (and the owner was on Queer Eye). The bagel and smoked salmon was excellent (very reminiscent of some New York places). The bagel was packed with flavor from the capers to the salmon to the cream cheese. The Dan sandwich and the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Bagel were very good. The service was pretty nice. The ambiance was not great (only let down).
