The beauty of the French Quarter is all of the holes in the walls and alleys you can duck into to get off the crowded streets that turn out to be first class establishments.Sylvain is no different. Peaking through the alley entrance you see right through to the courtyard seating area. Lovely area especially on a nice evening as was the case when I was there. The bar was old school and classy.Our group's meals were two Sylvain burgers and fries (both exceptional though simple), the short rib, and striped bass. Each dish was prepared to perfection and complimented by great table service. The gnocchi style crab and dumplings were an excellent and tasty surprise.
There isn't enough good to say about.. from the moment we sat down it was an amazing experience. Angelle took care of us and delightful is still too weak a word. The apps (cauliflower, cornbread, and fries), to the salads to the entrees (bolognese, short rib) and a burger and the cocktails is amazing!! We had such an amazing experience after 2 bad nights and this made up for it. Amazing!!! We'll be back.

Though Sylvain’s has been around for a while we just recently discovered it and it’s now a must when visiting New Orleans!I mean, how many places can you order champagne and fries?!The food is great - definitely recommend the chicken sandwhich and bolognese! The cocktails are amazing too - a good variety of both the classics and creative craft cocktails! It’s a fairly small, intimate place with seating options including the indoor dining area, outdoor courtyard, or bar seating. It’s perfect for a date night, (whether it be a first date, or anniversary),a girl’s get together, or couples outing!
Look idk if I should be using 1 star or 5. But here me out. I'm just done random guy but the ribs are the best thing I've ever tasted and the peas and onions that came with it were absolutely the most bland unapetizing thing I've ever eaten. Chef. Season and cook up those vegetables. And 5 stars all the way

We loved Pearl. She is a true gem. She made sure we were taken care of and we were. The food was great and they brought out the salad instead of the sandwich and I was so satisfied with the flavor of the salad I told them their salad was excellent and not worry about the sandwich but brought my sandwich anyway. Great flavors and a very accommodating staff, my new favorite place. I hope I can get Pearl the next time.
Was nervous about dinner last night due to the most recent reviews I have seen online about food quality and temperament of staff, but boy were they wrong. Food 10/10. Service 10/10. Ambiance 10/10. Everything was phenomenal. The corn bread, the beets we outstanding, the mushroom entree was insane! Will definitely be back again.

Me and some friends decided to travel to NOLA for spring break, and food was our top priority! Sylvain was on our list of recommendations, and my oh my was it a hit. I'm telling y'all everything from the ambiance to the customer service..from the food to the selection of music. The choice of wine was impressive, and the burger and fries were made with love.I cannot recommend this place enough.

Made reservations the night prior. They have happy hour 4pm - 6pm. The drinks were delicious.Food was amazing! My friend had the short rib and it melted in your mouth. I had the blackened bass it was perfectly made. I will definitely come back next time I am in New Orleans!
