Disappointing. ? The place had that local hole in the wall feel and we really thought we were gonna eat good. We got there 2 hours before closing, so no reason for bad food or service. There was one other table already there and one came in after us. Our waitress nice and service was ok. We only saw her when she took our order and brought out the food, then disappeared. We ordered the small catfish plate and the shrimp and catfish combo. The food took about 10 to 12 minutes, long enough for food to be prepared hot and fresh, but not too long, which was nice and hopeful. Being that we were at a sit down restaurant and had to place our order, I was expecting hot fries, fish and shrimp. Not the case at all. All of my food came out warm, and that's a stretch. No checkup after food was brought out. I ate what was the warmest and figured I'd take the rest home to heat up on my Pampered Chef stone in the oven. Then it might be worth the calories.

Traveled in from Lake Charles, and was my first visit.I ordered the large catfish fillet dinner. The best part of the meal was that the catfish tasted fresh, and they provide a reasonable amount for the price.Service was good, waiter frequently checked on me.Unlike many places, none of the food was overly salted. However, it was barely spiced, a big disappointment.The fries and hush puppies were from frozen supplies, available anywhere, Walmart, etc.. The ketchup was some brand that I've never tasted, and not very good. The tea was weak and barely sweet.In summary, I left full, but not very satisfied. No reason to return.
For our last day in Louisiana we wanted to eat real Cajun food. We are so glad we found The Cajun Catfish House. We enjoyed the authentic food and setting immensely. The staff was very friendly.

It is a cool spot and I had high hopes but the food was just ok. We ordered seafood platters. It was a good amount of food, we both had left overs, but it just wasn't great food. For the price I would have expected better. We didn't even bring the left over with us.

This is the best place for catfish in Louisiana. No one else’s catfish taste like there’s. My only suggestion is I wish they would go back to making their hush puppies by hand instead of using premade.
