The best burger in the whole town is right here at the Myrtles Plantation - The Carriage House! The restaurant is nice and a lil ghostly encounter is always a slight possibility. Additionally, the villas are designed for a special get away weekend. You will love it!

Did the tour in the mansion and decided to eat lunch at the carriage house. Ordered two hamburgers and a BLT we sent the burgers back they were both charcoal burnt. The BLT bacon must have been cooked earlier that day. There was literally a sliver of lettuce and tomato only on one side of the burgers. The tour was great and the restaurant service was great. Should have known something was up when there were NO locals in the restaurant on what should have been a busy Sunday afternoon.

Unique restaurant. Great food. Friendly service. Can't beat the atmosphere for anything. Love me some Carriage House!

We had recommended this restaurant to a group of friends that we were dining with. We were sorely disappointed! We had eaten there quite a few years ago and it was good. There was nothing good about it this night. The service was clunky and the food was mediocre at best. We had the shrimp bisque which was very pasty and tasteless, the sensation salad tasted like it just had Italian dressing on it, and the pork dish was dry. The setting at the Myrtles is beautiful however we won't be back to the restaurant again.

Very clean, very spacious. We had a 630 reservation but they seated us early... apparently Wednesday at the end of the September is not their busy time. The fried green tomatoes were good, although I felt the balsamic made them a little too sweet and preferred them without. The fried seafood platter was a lot, a lot of kick for fried food and a lot of food. I don't know how anyone could finish the whole thing. The bread pudding was soft and well complimented with the white chocolate whipped cream.

Our tour of the home was spectacular. The tour guide, Piper, deserved a Tony for her dramatic appeal. She was truly entertaining. Our service in the restaurant was very disappointing. The ambiance lacked the majestic charm that I hoped for in such a southern treasure. Our service/server was very unfriendly and seemed somewhat annoyed that he had such a large party. (We had reservations and gratuity was added to ticket.). We were told not to move and he still messed up all of our tickets. Every stage of our dining experience was delayed and disappointing. I absolutely adore southern food and I was saddened by our meal. Our plates were incomplete per the menu and there was no tolerance for substitutions. The tuna was awful, the steak was bland, and the potatoes appeared to be from a box. On a high note, my mahi mahi was flavorful. In closing I would simply state that had the service been better it would have made up for the lackluster food.

We stayed a night at the Myrtles Plantation and had dinner here. The food was delicious, the waiters were very attentive and helpful, and the wine was lovely. Definitely worth a meal if you're there to check out the Myrtles.

The food was delicious and very fresh. Heart frenzy chicken and sausage gumbo was terrific. Highly recomendation the broiled tilapia and the bread pudding. The house wine are are surprisingly good. The full bodied merlot was excellent. The service was spot on. Just the way my wife and I enjoy our dinners out. We were not rushed, and our food came out timed just right. Larry, our server was very tentative, knowledgeable and polite. This was by far one of the best anniversary meals in 23 years.

This was pretty good. Eggplant, delicious. Fried mushrooms, lovely. We had a very sweet server. Whatever wine we ordered was also a killer choice. All in all, YES.

We stayed on the premises and ate at the restaurant. Food was very good. The whole experience was a lot of fun. Didn't leave in the middle of the night. Breakfast the next day was good too. Everyone should experience the Myrtles.
