Want something fast and filling go to Crawfords. I had the friday shrimp special came up to approximately $13.50. The fish was delicious as well as the potato salad. The peas was hard like it needed more cooking time but I will try it again just to make sure of it. The Mac and cheese was seasoned with a little spice but who doesn't like a hint of spice.

Food was hot and delicious. Not much of a wait time for service either. Tables are big enough for everyone to eat comfortably also their daily menu is very reasonable for the food you get. If in the Slidell area give them a try you won't be disappointed by the flavor.

I stopped for lunch on my way out of NOLA, and the food was incredible. It’s definitely worth a visit if you come to Louisiana.

This is the best food I have eaten in my 10 yrs in Slidell. I heard they were from New Orleans and it sure tasted like it, if you want your taste buds to explode with a home cooked meal this is definitely the place for you PERIOD....

This place was amazing! The fried pork chops, the white beans...all of it was delish. As good as the neighborhood restaurants in New Orleans. I'll be a frequent guest. I don't think they have coffee and I hope they add some chicory coffee to the menu.

We tried this restaurant last week for the first time. The food was great. I had the smothered cabbage and bbq chicken. We also went again this week and had the fried chicken, white beans and hamburger steak and mashed potatoes. Excellent soul food. They also offer their fish grilled which is awesome. We will be back

We were greeted by the husband wife team that operate this lovely down home food spot. The service was nice the food was excellent and the atmosphere was very laid back and homey! We will definitely be going back. We ordered a fish and white beans plate, chicken and shrimp yakamein and the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and corn all delicious but i especially enjoyed the yakamein

Got here on a Friday evening, I guess around 6pm. I was worried that they were closed, because when I walked in I was the only one there; no staff or other customers. But a gentleman quickly appeared from the back, walked me through the menu, and took my order. The whiteboard says "lunch specials" but they were still available, so I got the Crawfish Kisha with grilled fish. Before anything else, I have to give kudos to them for having grilled fish. There are a number of places that only offer fried fish, so I always appreciate when places offer alternatives. As for the food, it was good. The fish needed a knife to fully cut it, but it wasn't dry. The crawfish topping has excellent flavor and the side corn had a welcome dash of black pepper in it. The only vague hangup was portion size. It wasn't small - I was uncomfortably full when finished it - BUT I did finish it. It's fairly rare for me to be able to eat a whole meal in one sitting, so maybe don't count on leftovers if you order takeout here.
