My first bad experience here. Normally, the food is excellent. I ordered a shrimp on bun with fries and the shrimp were puny, over fried, hard and dried out...the fries were also dry. I have to now reconsider if I want to spend almost a 2 hour round trip drive time and half a tank of gas to come back again or maybe just look for a better seafood restaurant.

YES PLEASE!!! The staff was "WARM AND FRIENDLY". The Food was EXCELLENT, and they give you PLENTY ?. WONDERFUL SERVICE, TASTY FOOD, GREAT PORTION SIZE MEALS/PLATTERS. Looking forward to the next visit!!!
Frog legs and Crab cake were awesome. Gumbo was more like soup. Wasn't impressed with it.

Surprised!I thought the food would have tasted much better. We were disappointed. For appetizers, we had a cup of crab gumbo and a cup of shrimp gumbo. We planned on sharing, but we could not tell the difference. Both were really bland and uninspiring. The entrees also lacked appeal. My wife had the platter. Overpriced. The stuffed crab tasted old and cold. Nothing special about the French fries, the fried shrimp, or the hush puppies. The fried oysters were horrible. I had the Bayou Pasta. Again, the taste was lacking, and it was too spicy. I will give credit to the taste of the thin catfish slices. They were very good! And the smoked catfish dip was also very delicious. I would give five stars for the dip and thin sliced catfish; if that was all we ate. My wife enjoyed the little dish of coleslaw.The service was great. We waited less than five minutes to be seated , and less than five minutes to be greeted by our waitress. Our waitress did not hover over us, and took care of us. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I cringe when I give negative reviews. Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen. I doubt we will return. The place was busy, so I am sure plenty of folks enjoy the food, but we left disappointed.
Bloody Mary was good. Went a couple months ago just getting to my review. Place is clean and huge. Food was good. The service was a little slow that day at lunch. It it was not terrible. I like the Manchac location better but we had a good lunch

I have taken high school students from Mississippi to the New Orleans World War II Museum for four years. We always stop at Middendorfs in Slidell. Great seafood at great prices. The service is really good. easy access just off I 10 in Slidell. I recommend it as a good casual seafood place. .
A fabulous place, great food, and a lovely atmosphere. There was even a two piece band playing and singing soft, relaxing music. The food was exceptional, the service was great, and we will definitely go again.
Their food is good. I just wished they offered a larger variety on their menu. I would appreciate a steak and shrimp option and a grilled shrimp option instead of broiled. While broiled shrimp is good, grilled is better.However the service is always good and I've been helped every time I've been in there by Ms Laura. A wonderful Lady.
