I ordered a salad last night. Italian salad no mushrooms. I specified that I have a mushroom allergy. She said, okay, no mushrooms. Not only were there mushrooms on the salad, but there was no pepperoni. As someone with an allergy I couldn't consume this salad. (Without a super fun trip to the hospital)We live a good distance away and it wasn't worth taking back. This is unfortunately the second time this has happened. It's 100% acceptable to say to a patron, I'm sorry we can't accommodate. I would be fine with that. Food allergies should be taken seriously and it's disheartening when you specify an allergen and then are served something that can kill you.We gave them another try after the first time it happened. We won't be back after this.Dietary restrictions: They did not accommodate a mushroom allergy.

I have eaten from the Italian pie for many, many years and it is normally a great choice. However, this past weekend? Not so much. As you can see by my picture, the lettuce was extremely wilted, almost non existent, as was the "sauce or spread" that it comes with. The .99 cent red onion add on were hardly there and soft like the lettuce. The only thing NOT soft was the hard bread it was on. I realize that type of bread is supposed to be stiff, but I shouldn't have to cut the edges off with a knife to eat it.

Monday lunch with a friend. We were one of the first to arrive. Open layout, lots of outside lighting, reasonably quiet. Seated quickly. Drink orders placed and arrived. These never went dry, and our server even offered to go cups at the end of our meal. My meal of a "mini calzone" and pasta salad was very good. Pasta salad was not swimming in dressing, and the calzone was HUGE and had great flavor. The only yuck to this meal was the dipping marinara sauce. Texture was kind of gross and not sure what was wrong with the flavor, but totally off. Lunch pricing very reasonable: $11.99. Husband's to go chicken cacciatore ($14.99) was ready when we were. Ate at home. Caesar salad dressing was great, and lots of cheese. Pasta had plenty of chicken, thinly sliced (love this!), large chunks of onion and pepper. Good thing about this is if you aren't an onion fan, you can pick them out and still enjoy the meal. Plenty of pasta as well, unfortunately to the point where there wasn't enough sauce and I had to add some out of my refrigerator. Half the pasta would have been ample. Added garlic bread ($.99) was great, even reheated; served like a mini cheese pizza. Check out went quick and easy. I'd definitely return when in the area and craving Italian. Lots of other options on the menu to try.

The food is good, but as usual, the service is nothing but crap! Constantly out of Sterling wine. It's like bait and switch. $12 for a glass of wine at cheap pizza joint. Not one good server ever stays. Training must be crap because service is horrible. Our server actually made four trips to our table to get drink order straight. Manager would not come to or table.

Good pizza. Good lasagna. I love the quantity and quality. One thing I would enjoy is if they allowed you to order to-go wine bottles. Idk about the locations in NOLA, but the Slidell location said they do not allow a bottle of wine for pick-up orders.I have eaten at several locations. The NOLA locations are good. Some of them deliver from the store itself, not just Doordash or Uber Eats. The calzones are also good. They are massive. My husband loves the shrimp one.Prices are comparable to Domino, Papa John's, etc. I do think the Italian Pie is better than those pizza places and you get more food. Even a kid's pasta is pretty good-sized. One kid's pasta is large enough for both my little ones. Plus, the pasta entree comes with bread and a salad. I don't remember about the kid's pasta having anything extra to it.It's just overall a good pizza spot. Been a returning customer for several years now. I love the fact that Slidell has one bc it is a favorite. I was sad to move from NOLA leaving my pizza spot. So, locations being spread out is pretty awesome.Kid-friendliness: My kids love the meatballs and spaghetti.

Italian Pie on Gause Blvd. in Slidell, LA is one of our favorite places for lunch. No matter what meal you order, you get a very generous amount of food. The Spinach and Artichoke pizza is usually my wife's selection but today she ordered the Italian Salad. It's a nice size and very good. My one favorite is the Chicken Florentine Calzone. It's actually two meals because I normally take half home for another meal later. It's big and delicious. So tasty, you should try it!Our waitress was so friendly today. Cori was very attentive, she checked on us frequently. It made our meal that much more pleasant. If you have need for a private room they have a very spacious one you can use.The restaurant is very clean, no debris on the floor. For a nice lunch or dinner you won't go wrong going to Italian Pie on Gause Blvd. in Slidell, LA.

My wife and I love this place! The pizza is great and the service is friendly and professional. I only gave them a 4 star review because their pasta could use some work and they often neglect to add new items to the physical menus. For example; they currently have a cauliflower and regular thin crust option for their pizza that are not reflected on the menu. I'm also including a pic of their wings menu because neither the restaurant nor any of the patrons bothered to upload it.

Excellent dining experience. Huge portions and exquisite flavors. The house specialty French Onion soup was fabulous, the Chicken Cacciatore was devine and the Calazones were big enough to share.
