We were a large party of 8 and our waiter was so attentive! The food and atmosphere are 5/5. We had the Firecracker shrimp, crab stuffed egg rolls, trio oysters, and seafood pasta. Two in our party had thr chicken fried ribeye steak - YALL - Talk about good. I want to go back ASAP just so I can order that! All amazing!

Delicious cocktails and cuisine - one of the locals favorite restaurants. Try the duck-washed smokey old fashioned and the crab-stuffed egg rolls!

The place is nice, especially for sunset Louisiana. The staff is very nice and good. I like the center kitchen and chargrills so you can watch your food being made. These are the pros. Now the cons. The only takeaways were that the floor was sticky. You walk on the concrete floor and your shoes stick to the floor. I know it's Louisiana and the put count spice on dam near everything. I ordered a 14 oz prime rib. It's a bit pricey at $44 . I was looking for a great steak, but it was infused with heavy Cajun season. I could not eat it as it was just over spiced . Any steak should only be no season or a light sea salt and cracked pepper base and allow the customer to choose how they want a steak. My waitress said that they have told them from past guest the same thing, but they keep dumping heavy Cajun season on them. I hate paying almost $100 for a good meal I could not enjoy. If they remove that one thing and clean the floors ,I would come back again. Outside of this it's a nice little place to enjoy a meal.

I ordered chicken and sausage gumbo that was great! However my side dish of “Sautéed Spinach” was so hot and doused with Red Pepper, it choked me. I drank two huge glasses of water and still couldn't get rid of the red pepper lodged in my throat!

Friends recommended your establishment to me. The dishes are good without being exceptional. The cold air from the air conditioning ruined this dinner. I would have gladly changed places but I was in front of the grill, supposedly warm! That said, your restaurant was busy and I am delighted that you are satisfying your usual customers. Best wishesParking: Arrive early ;)

I don't understand the hype, our food wasn't well-seasoned, our booth was dirty, and the place was only half full but it was as loud as a packed Chili's or something similar. We chose Cafe Josephine based off of all the “Best Restaurants in Lafayette” lists, but I wouldn't go back.

My husband and I decided to give this location a second try, after years ago seeing a roach there. While we were waiting for the appetizer, a chef walked from the back to cook a steak in a front open area they have. In 5 minutes and I kid you not, he took his hand and wiped his nose at least ten times, wiped sweat from his forehead with his hand, scratched his head, took a rag off the counter and wiped sweat from his entire head (hair included) then laid the rag back on the counter. He then walked to the back still wiping his nose with his cooking hand as an older man, also a chef, walked to the open area, picked up the SAME rag the first guy used to wipe his head and wiped a knife with it to cut something. It was very hard for us to swallow our appetizer and we did not order any entrees after witnessing all that. Yes, the food is good, but if that is what I saw in 5 minutes out in the open, I don't want to know what happens in the back the rest of the day. We won't be going back and I feel so sorry for people unaware what is going on at this restaurant.

Tonight was the second time dining at Cafe Josephine's. As a delectable repeat the crab egg rolls were ordered. The crab meat tonight was not spoiled but far from fresh tasting. Did eat almost half trying to convince otherwise. On another note, the waitstaff both times were service oriented and accommodating, thank youVegetarian options: an adjacent diner had macaroni and cheese while I had the roasted brussels sprouts

Food and service were excellent.Waitress was very attentive and very personable. Overall dining experience was great .Only minor issue was room temp was a little chilly but that was cured with some very good mixed drinks . Would Highly recommend!!

We always have a lovely experience at Josephines. This was our first time dining near the bar. Our little ones loved everytime the fire was kindled and exploded for them. They are still talking about it a couple days later. Our steak was perfect and the Arnald Palmers were even a yummy hit for our children. They have wonderful selections for wines. From first bites to final check, everything is fantastic. This is our go to restaurant for most family events, though we do not see very many children here. We drive over two hours and never mind the trip. Conversation with Chef Troy is always a pleasure and the wait staff is a blessing to the meal. We always recommend dining here to friends and family and look forward to visiting soon.

We made a reservation and were seated immediately, even though it was a busy Saturday night. The drinks and food were delicious. We had the cheesy corn & crawfish dip, lump crabmeat salad, duck tacos, and corn & crab bisque. My guests requested that we make a return visit the next time they are in town. Hopefully, I'll be back before then.

This is my second time there and the food was more impressive this time. Wait time not as long as we expected(but we were there when it was not real busy) We will certainly be going back

I had been recommended to visit this restaurant. I ordered the snapper and etouffe crayfish. I was not impressed. I moved from the bar area as it was freezing to a booth. Bar keep very nice and helpful. Snapper was very spicy and crayfish tough. Not sure I would go back.
