They are kept steaming hot and are tender, juicy, and the kick will definitely titillate your taste buds. Arriving about 4-5 pm is your best bet if you don't want them to be sold out.

I have been eating these tamales since I was a young kid. I visit there Avondale stand. I bring 4-5 containers so I can get juice and freeze them. They have never changed the recipe and that is what makes there tamales the best !!!!!!!! This place gets so much business for being a "stand" off the road and only from 4:00-10:00PM. My entire family and friends knows about these tamales. They are an icon for folks that grew up around New Orleans. You have to know where there stands are located.
