“This is a pretty standard Louisiana spot: plate lunches, burgers, seafood, etc. Everything we had was above average for a small town lunch place. The staff here gets all the stars though. The ladies treated us like family eating at Granny's house. They were extremely accommodating to my food allergies and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. This lunch spot gets a 5/5. The staff gets a 10/5“

“Don’t let the outside entrance of the Ugly Cafe deter you. We almost didn’t stop, but we are happy we did. We arrived on a Friday about 6 pm and enjoyed a shrimp po-boy and shrimp basket. We ate in, but most of the locals call in and takeout their orders. It is a busy and popular spot. Our wait person was friendly, efficient, and hospitable!“

“this is the BEST crawfish in town!! Crawfish is my FAVORITE food so most consider me a crawfish Connoisseur... usually I have to order extra spicy so the 1st time I ordered it that way ..now it was on point until I got to the juice on the bottom made it so salty ..that was the only complaint I had then...they were fresh..not over cooked or reheated... they were purged great , etc ..they were fast with service and so poliet. so I always try n get them a tip! but then the 2nd time and everytime after I get them regular ,It was and Is Perfect!!! the corn is always sweet n juicy, not over cooked n rubbery..the potatoes was great soft and not hard but not over boiled so perfect as well!! n so on the day after mothers day they were sold out so I settled with Sammies and they just don't sit right with me so I gave them away..if u cook crawfish right it don't need all that sauce smh but don't get me wrong I liked them at 1st but it just wasn't for me but I did like that they serve Lobster tails... but Crawfish Plus is the BEST in town!!n a close 2nd or 3rd is Robbie Gs ..with the new owners opened it back... but Crawfish Plus always leaves me wanting more ... so I always get 5lbs but honestly if I could lay down n eat them without sitting up eating them my back starts to hurt ..but I got to have at least 5lbs 2 corn n 2 potatoes!! ok let me shut up ..but Pandora McClinton LOVES yall!!!“

“I used to be a huge fan of Rosie Jo's. But now after eating their Cajun Nachos, I'm a full blown air conditioner! Best nachos I've ever had. Great portion size. Really balanced flavors. I'm very happy with my lunch today ❤“

“Crawfish Beignets were delicious! Shrimp Po-Boy yum. Also had the Bramblin Man cocktail, was different but great. Waitress was so friendly (loved her accent). The atmosphere was great. Wish we could have sat outside while the live band was playing. Would definitely go back.“

“Stopped here with my daughter and husband coming from Seattle Washington driving her to Belle Chasse since she is in the Navy and that's her next duty station,and got some crab clusters with shrimp spicy and it was delicious my daughter had crawfish. “Our server did great with our 13 top on a busy Saturday evening in the downstairs bar area! (He was young and had poofy blonde hair, not sure his name but give him a raise!) The burger was to DIE for. Super good; highly recommend. ?? there was also live music that was refreshing.“

“Used to come to Tunks back in the day when we lived in the area but have not been here in years. Met 2 of our dear friends from Simpson here for supper The one noticeable thing missing right off was that the great salad bar was gone- probably due to the Covid mess With that exception all else was simply the same Our waitress, Angel- was delightful- she was an ANGEL! Not only was she pretty - she was punctual- personable & professional- And the food was exceptional We had fried crab claws for a starter - they were SPOT ON I tried the crawfish Etoffee - it was a monstrous serving so right off the bat I asked Angel to take 1/2 and box it up for our friends to take home!! My buddy tried the special - the crawfish bisque and let me have a sample- the taste was scrumptious and for his main course he had the catfish platter - with the fish being fried crispy- he said they were delicious His wife tried the Etoffee as I did- both served with a small side salad which were as good as I remember the salad bar of old The place was very clean as it has always been and I was delighted to be able to visit one of our old favorite places and see it still thriving and doing good You never want to be biased when you do a review of a place of business and always try and be very objective That all said - being very objective and my old conservative self I give Angel and Tunks an 8 on the Yelp Scale of 1-5 And applaud Jim Bo and his family and staff for maintaining such a great place since I guess the mid 70's WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!!
