Easily the best soondubu jjigae in Boston. Soondubu is one of my favorite Korean food items and Kim's delivered every single time. As Allston residents, my boyfriend and I regularly frequented this place. Each time we've been here since Kim's first opened 1.5 years ago the service has been top-notch and the food reminded us of home. What they lacked in breadth of menu items they more than made up in depth and quality. The banchan were excellent. The nutritious rice was especially yummy. And of course, the delicious soondubu really warmed you up, especially on cold days. Kim's was one of Allston's best restaurants. I'm so sad about another COVID restaurant casualty. Kim's Tofu, you will be oh so sorely missed.

This is one of my favorite places to go for warm soondubu when it's cold out. Their food is delicious and fresh. When you enter, they check your temperature at the door and offer hand sanitizer. The service here was pretty fast. First, you choose the type of protein you want in your tofu soup: seafood, kimchi, beef, chicken, pork, or vegetable. Then, you pick the spice level. Lastly, you can decide on whether you want to upgrade to oyster/nutritional rice or stick with white rice. You can also order Korean classics like LA Kalbi, Mackerel, Spicy Pork, or Seafood Soybean Pancake. They offer fresh ground tofu as a starter and give a variety of side dishes (banchan) such as pan fried fish, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, and raw soy-marinated shrimp. The tofu soup comes out hot and full of flavor. They also add an egg in it. The food warms you up and it's quite a filling meal. The rice comes in a steel bowl so it's soft rice on the inside and crispy "burnt" rice on the outside. At the end of the meal, they provide you with a refreshing cold cinnamon drink as dessert.

Fabulous dining experience. Tasty food that is well-curated for a full meal, all for a good price.

I love soondubu jjiggae and went here once before the pandemic with my Korean friend. She said that everything tasted like home and was very happy. Ever since indoor dining closed, I've been taking advantage of their free delivery - it makes me feel better to order from them over the phone knowing that none of my money is going to GrubHub commissions. They are the nicest people and you can taste the difference in their food. I am especially hooked on their seafood soybean pancake - it's addictively crunchy. A typical order for us: beef soondubu medium spicy, grilled mackerel, seafood pancake, kalbi or pork bulgogi. The bulgogi leftovers are great for making gimbap or ssam. Watch out for bones in the mackerel.

We ordered pickup tonight and was missing some rice in the order. Kim's was kind enough to deliver the missing rice with extra rice and banchan, and they even offered a free pancake for our next purchase! We are their regular customers and will continue to order from them with such a superb customer service! Their homemade tofu is silky and has a strong soybean flavor, and their nutritious rice is topped with chick peas, sweet potatoes and shitake mushroom, which is excellent!

Waking up late on a chilly Sunday morning, I knew what I was craving: some warm, tofu soup to soothe my cold soul. This was my second visit to Kim's tofu, and the food was just as excellent as it was the first time, so I thought it warranted some kind words from me through this review. The restaurant is open for dine in, and the tables were decently distanced. The menu is quite small - just one page front and back. They have the iconic tofu soup on one side (pictured) and just a handful of other items on the back including some classic favorites like kalbi and Korean pancakes (jeon). If you don't like tofu soup, this place might not have the variety for you. However, I saw the small menu as a pro, not a con; it's a sign of an establishment that knows what they are good at and STICKS to it. First come side dishes, which include some ground tofu as appetizer and pan fried fish. Kimchi is delicious, as are the pickled cucumbers! I ordered the tofu soup with beef, medium spicy, just like the first time. Rice was served piping hot on the side in a cute little pot. The tofu soup was near perfect!! Warm, good amount of saltiness and spice in the soup, and a nice egg to top it all off. I could not put my spoon down; I finished the entire bowl, no tofu left behind. The service is good here as well. Server asked if we'd opt in for some raw shrimp banchan (which we declined for allergy reasons), checked in to refill waters, was cordial throughout, etc. Kim's tofu is downright one of the best Korean places I've had in Boston. Honestly, I'd even say it's on par with many of the establishments in the highly reputable Korean food scene on the West Coast, which is a very high compliment for me. 100% recommend if you are looking for quality soon tofu. Great, great stuff!

We came to this place first time around 9:45pm, they claim the kitchen is closed while the store hour posted is 10 pm. So we visited a month after at 8:28 pm. They said they are not accepting customers after 8:30 pm and refused us to sit in while it is clearly before 8:30 pm. Worst customer service around Allston. Please support other generous and respectful business around the area.

Went in for take-out two nights ago and they were seating people right next to each other, no social distancing at all, which is a clear violation of state guidelines. Dine in at your own risk...

I had a wonderful experience in this restaurant. We enjoyed the superb environment and the food. The waiters are super welcoming. I am happy we ultimately managed to visit here.

This is my third time at Kim's Tofu, and I realized I hadn't written a review yet. This past week, I came in with my friend on weeknight at 6pm, there was only 1 other party besides us inside the restaurant. They made us write our names down to keep track of the number of people inside, and provided hand sanitizer before we were seated. I ordered a medium spicy beef tofu soup with nutritious rice, while my friend ordered a mild spicy seafood tofu soup. We also got an order of kalbi. Food: I never liked how much tofu they give in comparison to the beef and soup. This is a personal preference, but I like more soup to mix with my rice, especially since they offer such a big bowl of rice. For spice level, I would recommend upping it up a notch for a kick if you have a decent spice tolerance. The nutritious rice is delicious and I love the vegetables they have inside, especially the sweet potato. I was blown away by the kalbi, not only because of the huge portions but also because of the tender meat and flavor. Service: The waitress who served us was extremely nice and explained each banchan to us. She would pop in often to check in on us and refill our waters. All of my friends love Kim's Tofu, and I agree that it is one of the best places in Boston for korean food. The total came to around $80 including tip, but it's worth the slight splurge.

It felt...like Christmas. The side dishes kept coming. My beef-tofu soup melted in my mouth and exploded long after I had swallowed. I should have signed a waiver before i took that first bite. DELICIOUS! i even got a nice dessert. On a more sensical note— they are taking COVID-19 seriously. At arrival you must write your name and phone number for what I assume is contact tracing. The staff was so lovely and the food was delicious. Come here.

Kimchi was really fresh and delicious. Tofu soup is perfect, and comes with rice; both are steaming hot. All the food exceeded expectations. Good size portions. Exceptional service.
