Said under new management but the food was horrible! Got pork fried rice and BBQ ribs. Everything had a unusual sweet taste. Won't ever go back. Don't even get me started on the huge increase in price, which I wouldn't mind paying if the food was edible.

Used to be the best around. Not anymore. I ended up throwing out most of it. I don't think I've ever thrown out Chinese food before.

They use Beyond Menu for delivery. They charged $7.00 for delivery and $1.00 for convenience fee. I live less than 3 miles away from the restaurant. I have ordered food from this place for 32 years. Under new management this is not what I expected. The portions are smaller. Who cares about online ordering! Sorry China Star, You will not be getting my business any more!

Under the new ownership of China Star Restaurant, I recently had the pleasure of trying their Crab Rangoon and Beef Teriyaki. The Crab Rangoon impressed with its perfect balance of crispy texture and a rich, flavorful filling. The tender slices of beef are glazed with a mouthwatering teriyaki sauce, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and savory goodness. Highly recommended for a delightful Asian culinary experience.

Ordered 2 dinner plates B&D and one thing I've noticed. The size of the order was less then the past owner. The rice is hard and dry and if you have leftover rice it turns into a hard block and next to uneatable. The past owner had the best fried rice around. why change anything from what the past owner did? The egg foo young was bland and tasteless. After 24 years of at least once per week and sometimes twice per week getting takeout I guess it's time to find a new Chinese takeout for me. They won't last long here in Amesbury putting out junk food like that. It was a great run but now it's over.... Terrible food!

Called at 5pm asking if they were still doing delivery was told yes no problem 30-45min. At about 6:45pm called to get a status was told driver was out for delivery. Around 7:30 called again was told driver will call me. At 8:30 called again and restaurant was closed. If they couldn’t take my order should have just said so or have people pick it up. Apparently we were not the only ones left hanging.

Ordered food at 5pm. I called at 6:30 pm to check on my delivery that said it would arrive at 5:50pm. I was told that they would call the delivery driver and I would get a call right back. I call again at 7:30 pm to be told the same thing with no call back. They need to fix this issue don’t take orders if you can’t deliver plain and simple.

Beyond upset ordered it at 6:30 and no delivery called back around 7:30. Said they would be there soon to deliver. No one ever showed up. Now their phones are off the hook and they’re closed for the night. I guess we were scammed for almost $75. I will definitely never be ordering from here

We have been patrons of this restaurant for 25 years and never had an issue with the food. When we order it’s usually $100-$150 each time. We ordered last night and were not impressed with the changes from new management. We were told they didn’t have rice and vegetables, the crab rangoons were not the same, and the egg foo yung was changed and has some new sauce. I would not go back.

Just let me start by saying that I ordered on Christmas Eve online to be delivered to my apartment . I work two jobs so I wasn't able to pick it up at the restaurant and I would have ordered from a different restaurant but I live in Amesbury .and my order got messed up I was charged for food that I did not receive I ordered two chicken lo mein I ordered two chicken fried rice I ordered two chicken teriyaki one beef teriyaki a crab rangoon and a chicken finger and they left out the two chicken lo mein so I was out $30 of food that I paid for before even receiving it and I just tried to call them just now at 5:30 day after Christmas and they're closed I am very disappointed and will never order from China Star again I'm a resident of Amesbury and very disappointed that they didn't even call me back after realizing that they had made a mistake that they did not give me what I ordered and what I paid for and I'm filing a complaint and demanding my $30 back a food that I did not receive

This restaurant got new management recently. The new management decided to change what were the best crab rangoons around to run of the mill crab rangoons that suck. They have a sweeter flavor and taste like all the other crab rangoons in this area. CHANGE YOUR CRAB RANGOON RECIPE BACK TO WHAT IT WAS!!!The rest of the food here is average to above average. The lady who answers the phone is always on point. I never had an incorrect order delivered (50+orders).General Gau's is average. It could be spicier. Lo mein is good, no complaints about the rice or the portions. But as of mid-2023 this restaurant seems to be trending downward. Hopefully management realizes that folding wonton into a prettier shape does not make up forbad taste. You had something with your crab rangoons. Changing them cost you about $500 in sales annually from my family, alone. Bring back the old crab rangoons!!!!
