Great meal for not too crazy expensive. Although it was busy, dinner service ran really well and we got our food and reasonable amount of time.

I came here on vacation for a special meal and was disappointed by the bland, greasy food. It would be barely acceptable at diner or fast casual prices. Service was slow too. The decor is pleasant enough - that's the best I can say about this restaurant.

Food was so tasteful and had a robust taste. Loved the location close to shopping and safe parking.

DELICIOUS! Let's start with the amazing tomato concoction that comes with the bread. I could eat that every day! The fish was delicious but OMG the scallops! Cooked perfectly! Our server was Fatma and just incredible. Her smile was very inviting and friendly. She interacted with my daughter who was here for a college tour so nicely. She was professional but also made us feel like we were interacting with a longtime friend. Thank you!

I had a hamburger at Johnny's Tavern which was done perfectly to my requested medium and was very juicy. It came with mushrooms and melted cheese. It was very good. French fries were also hot and crispy. There are a number of specialty cocktails with interesting flavor combinations to try. This is a popular place, and according to my friends, a favorite among residents of Amherst MA.

Occupying a prime spot on Amherst's Boltwood Walk, Johnny's Tavern offers a traditional menu with an Asian flair. The menu does change periodically which keeps it interesting. First up was the Fried Salt and Pepper Calamari. If you're looking for traditional calamari, this is not it. It is loaded with garlic and scallions in addition to unagi (eel) sauce and five spice. Main was the house made Spaghetti Bolognese consisting of braised beef and finished with a touch of cream, ricotta and pecorino. They do bring out bread for the table with red pepper garlic aioli. The bread was cold and an indication of being previously frozen. Johnny's is attentive to detail but this one they missed. Ambiance is jockey motif stemming back from the family's history. Johnny's is not 5 star but realistically a high "3" to "4" and one of the best that Amherst has to offer.

Food is amazing, prices are very fair considering the amount of food and the quality that you get. Amazing service friendly faces and very good feeling establishment.

A last-minute impromptu dinner reservation was easily accommodated. Cam was our server and he was friendly and professional, checking in on us to make sure everything was to our liking. Our dinners were exactly as requested and delicious. Another great night!

They lost our reservation and said they could get us in @2 hrs later-although there were 9 empty tables--food was overcooked mashed potatoes cold-portions very small-hostess stated our gift card had no $ on it-(just purchased at the chamber of commerce) this has been my favorite restaurant for the last 12 years-I live in Northampton and have access to many restaurants but johnny's was where I loved to go--Friday 3/1 was a terrible experience my friends that I talked into coming will never go back-new chef? new manager? usually it's great Friday was a bad bad experience--you have to do something-word will get around and before long you will be scratching heads why are we so slow---good luck

We went in arms wide open and received a hug in return from the wonderful staff. The opening salvo was the bread with a great spicy oil which hit the mark. We didn't think things could get better but the salmon on risotto was a home run! Perfect balance of flavor and spices. The tuna sandwich was great but overshadowed by the greatness of the salmon, sorry Charlie. Beer list is good but could improve. Service amazing

Wowwww.. I mean WOW! I drove from Boston for a show at Umass, and we decided on Johnny’s. They were already and wait-time was 30 mins+ booked so we decided on takeout. I got the Chicken sandwich, Bolognese, my boyfriend got the duck and kale truffle salad. The least favored was the truffle salad, too much oil. But the chicken sandwich WOWW!!!!!! INCREDIBLE! And bolognese was perfectly cooked the pasta was delicious, and the extra ricotta was just perfect. My boyfriend’s duck was perfect cooked, he was very pleased. We will be returning for a sit down dinner! ????

Very nice space right in downtown Amherst. Filled up early on a Sunday for lunch. Decent menu choices. Food was good, but nothing wowed us. Generous servings. Friendly waitstaff. Would definitely go back. Parking lot was full.
