I have stayed at over 15 different B & B's. Something as different as B & B's in trees, yurts, safari (with wild animals around) style, etc. This B & B was certainly one of the top which I have stayed in. Everything was perfect from A to Z. The accomodations were beautiful, simple yet elegant. Our stay was calm and very relaxing. Lynda, the innkeeper, could not have been nicer or more accomodating. She's a real gem of an innkeeper - and not to mention the absolute most top notch breakfasts EVER created!! Purple Gables is a place that I would absolutely recommend to anyone - the best!!

This is a beautiful little house set perfectly in between the popular UMass campus and the cute little town of Amherst. It's run by a wonderfully friendly woman who provides a really good quality of service, food and home-like atmosphere. My visit there was really comfortable and the food was excellent! The suite had a really nice private bathroom, a little closet, a study and even a little breakfast nook! WOW! The bed in the suite was super comfortable, I fell right asleep, and I generally have trouble sleeping in any bed but my very own. We got our choice of breakfast as well as many snacks, drinks and several little goodies left in our room for us like the gourmet almonds I couldn't keep my hands off of! The only thing is, you should probably call early because the Innkeeper told us that it gets pretty booked up around the summer...
