About every Ramen place I went to in this state, none of them made a good shio Ramen. This is the only Ramen place I know that makes such a great quality Shio Ramen. I wish i could them 6 out of 5 stars. I haven't been to this place since right before Covid began. Coming back to this 2 years from them and i'm so happy they barely changed a thing. The broth and the noodles themselves are amazing. Highly recommend coming back here

Great ramen, great broth, great service! One star off for the price. A bowl of ramen is $14-17 and doesn't have enough noodles in my opinion.

This place was great but sadly it's closed for good. I've gone out of my way to come here on several different occasions and every time they're closed and no one answers the phone. I really wish they would update their business status so people don't waste their time trying to come here.

Last night I went back to Amateras for the first time after it reopened recently. To my relief and delight its ramen was as good as ever. The same owner chef was in the kitchen. He explained to me that restoring full service had been a struggle. Since this is the only restaurant in the Boston area where I can enjoy authentic, but simple, ramen, I'm very glad it reopened.

This restaurant adds to my quality of life so much!! That's all I can think whenever I'm eating a poke bowl from here. I truly cherish the days they are open. I find the prices extremely reasonable and really love the convenience of the poke bowl checklist sheet you fill out to create your custom poke bowl! I typically order salmon and for what is about a medium size bowl they really give you a heaping cup of beautiful raw, dressed salmon on top! And all of the staff are seriously above and beyond sweet and kind. I feel so lucky to be in such close proximity to this place as frequently as I am!!

I'm very disappointed with this place. I drove there, I called them to find the way how to park. I finally god there and was denied service because I wasn't vaccinated. This should be written on the page. At least they could ask me this question when I was on the phone with them.

My favorite in the area, very glad they reopened! Can't miss with the 5x spicy miso.

Sometimes change in management is a good thing, but this is definitely not the case for Amateras. Amateras was one of our regular ramen spots, but after today, we will not return for sure because whatever they made after reopening are plain horrible when compared to the past. When we discovered that Amateras has reopened, we felt utterly grateful because being its frequent customers before COVID-19 and a big supporter of local small businesses, we have been waiting patiently for this (former) wonderful restaurant to come back to life. However, its reopening turned out to be a big negative experience for us. From its "self-serving" workflow to the Chinese boss's/manager's insulting words to the workers, from its sporadic schedules to virtually zero customer service, all of these can be somewhat tolerable if foods are at least good. Unfortunately, the foods were extremely bad. How bad are the foods? Broth is a bowl of ramen's soul, but it is "thin" and potentially filled with MSG/salt (had to drink 2-3 liters of water soon afterward) with some added odd colors. The noodles are closer to instant noodle quality. Using overcooked Chinese Yau Choy as a substitute for other vegetables. Chicken meat (SHIO, $13) is the worst, it is basically boiled chicken breast in round shape with salt/MSG. Cha Shu (TONKOTSU, $15) is like half beef jerky, half smelly pork meat. If we have to give a score out of 100, the whole package is worth like 30-35 out of 100. See the 2 photos below, comparing February 2020 (very good) and December 2021 (horrible), as a reference. Would we go back? Even if they would pay us to go back, we would not even consider doing so. There are many other great ramen places in the Greater Boston Area, it is not worthwhile of going to a place, like Amateras, that serves below average noodles (it cannot even be categorized as 'ramen'). It is one depressing day where we witnessed another great restaurant turned into a bad one due to a change in ownership/management.

This place reopened up last week! Still located near south station. The owners are super friendly and nice. It does have a limited menu, only shoyu and shio for ramen but they started poke and bento boxes. It is takeout only right now but it is super good and amazing even for takeout.

This spot is worth giving a shot. They serve large portions for convenient rates. Consistently clean and with fantastic character. Will come visit again.
