I will admit at first I was hesitant about eating here it's a hard to find place with multiple little shops in the building but the food was absolutely amazing next time I visit Boston this is sure to be a place to come back to

The vendor is located in a small food court away from street view and it's easy to miss. Make the effort to go inside because Avana Sushi is one of Chinatown's hidden gems. The food is delicious, fresh, and clean. I highly recommend.

Special rolls are good but the "cheap" rolls are cheap so you really get what your pay for. Did takeout and next time, would stick with the special rolls as they tasted more fresh than the regular ones. Reasonably priced so overall, 3.5 stars rounding down to 3.

During my High School years in Massachusetts, I went on a crusade to find the best sushi in Boston. Avana is the best sushi compared to price, and even then, I've been to many sushi restaurants in MA that were more expensive, but worse quality and taste. The rolls and nigiri are delicious. You can definitely get better sushi in Boston for a lot more money, but this is the best reasonably-priced, but still very yummy sushi in the area.

They are opened! I ordered the maki platter and salmon lover (my personal favorite) and the items were ready in 15 minutes. Super quick and affordable if you're looking for cheap eats in the Chinatown area. You can tell they don't skimp on quality despite their low prices. The place is located in a small food court and seating is limited, so take out is probably the best choice. Prices are decent, prep time is QUICK! Definitely recommend if you haven't tried already!

Keep in mind - I'm not a sushi connoisseur by any means and I'll happily indulge in grocery store sushi if I know it's half-decent, but I had trouble enjoying Avana Sushi. I don't know if it was because I ordered it for delivery, or if it was just an off day, but the sushi itself felt... dry and old. The fish seemed to be not very fresh and the rice was pretty hard. I still ate it all because again, not a sushi snob here, but definitely had an upset stomach the rest of the day (first meal of day, not trying to insinuate anything here). I might try it again once things are back to normal, but may hesitate next time before trying.

I was so disappointed with this place . My two biggest criticisms were the chef and the customer service. I was there on July 27th 2020 at 9:15pm, it’s a Monday night.I tried to order on Uber eats for pick up, but the app shows the restaurant turned the order service off, so I walked in and ready to order, first of all the server girl seems so rude and unwelcoming, don’t even answer my questions,I don’t know what did I do wrong :( it makes my family so upset!!! my little son started to order, but the chef said they are closing NOW, we have to leave, but the website shows close on 10pm. I have been to many restaurants in Boston and none of them expelled guests like this. Recommend everyone to avoid this restaurant. bad experinces

Take out order: Tuna, salmon, bbq eel, octopus, mackerel, tamago, spicy tuna avocado and seaweed salad(not pictured). Staff was kind and service was fast. The mackerel was really sweet!

New to the Boston area, and as sushi fanatics, we were looking for an affordable, quality sushi place. Realistically, I'd give this place 3.5 stars. Located in the middle of chinatown, this little restaurant is tucked away in a small food hall, next to a ramen shop. The sushi bar is tiny, and there are few tables next to the bar. The place in general appears run down. The food: decent for the price. The specialty Maki rolls top out at $10 per order and all sushi is ~$4, probably some of the most affordable sushi places in the city. The Maki rolls were pretty good-- we got the white tuna, the catepillar, and a couple of other specialty rolls. The Rolls were actually much smaller than expected, but tasted delicious. The sushi-- salmon, yellowtail, and tuna were disappointing. They all tasted like frozen, old fish, and carried a somewhat fishy odor. Definitely the difference between a top notch and a discount sushi place. We got take out and, service was fast. Our order was ready within an appropriate time. Will likely be back to satisfy sudden sushi cravings.

This is a simple unassuming quick spot for sushi in chinatown. They don’t win any awards for ambiance, it’s a small area in a sort of shopping mall that seems deserted, but they do know how to make sushi. They have lots of those semi fancy rolls that everyone charges an arm and a leg for, but they do them for 5 or 6 bucks, and I find the quality is there 100%. I wouldn’t come here for a nice dinner to socialize over, but if I’m on my way to somewhere more fun, this is the place.

I was so disappointed with this place. My friend told me there is a cute food court. So Walking inl thought it was going to be a great meal. I’m from North Carolina and just visiting Boston I figured I’ll stop at this sushi restaurant. Very low prices and AMAZING food. The sushi is absolutely delicious, unarguably the best sushi I’ve ever had!

The meals and service were above our expectations. We absolutely loved the ambience of this restaurant. Great restaurant to take the family out for dinner.

Avana Sushi is my go-to sushi restaurant when I want quick service and fresh fish. Although the maki platter is a bit pricy, it is worth every penny and far more affordable than other sushi restaurants. During our quarantine, this became our "treat yourself" meal after a long week of working from home. The decorative elements and attention to detail in the preparation to the sushi made it look almost too gorgeous to eat. This was a meal that I can compare to ambrosia, the food of the gods. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I am salivating just thinking about this experience. Avana, if you ever need a taste tester you know where to find me!
