EXCELLENT! We ordered from Basho repeatedly via DoorDash while my son was being treated in the hospital. He loves sushi and this was such a comforting treat for him and us during a difficult time. Everything we ordered was consistently good. The rolls are creative and the quality of the seafood is excellent. Thank you so much for making our hospital stay so much better.

All of our food came at once even though we ordered appetizers, then soup and salad, and then rolls. Also, I tried to get another drink and some more wasabi but the waiter didn't check back for over 15 minutes by which time we were done eating. Location was convenient and reservations made it safe to show up and be seated.

I tried their lunch special featuring chicken teriyaki with rice saturated in teriyaki sauce, a sad salad, a bland mushroom soup, and an unremarkable California maki. I requested a miso soup instead of the mushroom soup listed on the menu, but they don't allow substitution which is sad. Despite the steep prices, the quality falls short compared to other Japanese restaurants nearby that has lower prices and better food.

I haven't been to Basho in years, but was sorry to see it's declined quite a bit—torn carpet, worn upholstery, and oddly dark for the middle of the day. The food was fine.

This place is ok. It's more about the ambiance and location than it is about the food. I've eaten there in-person and ordered delivery. Sushi is mediocre. Soups (ramen, miso, etc.) are mediocre. Dumplings are mediocre. It's mediocre food. The service is pretty good when you eat in the restaurant. Overall, if you enjoy the taste of food and you're looking to spend $30-$40 per person not including drinks, you can do much better even considering the location. Delivery is a non-starter. So many better options.

Meh. Waygu steak bowl was shaved so thin, you could see through itI thought I would get some protein, less than an ounce. Portions small, lacked flavor. Ice cream was tasty.

The food was fresh, authentic and delicious! The restaurant was clean, neat and tidy. First, we'd like to thank the manager Forbes for his help in satisfying our seating arrangement requests. Second, we'd like to thank our server for taking our order so carefully. I have a lot of dietary restrictions and he was very informative and knowledgeable. Last, we wish BASHO success and we'll definitely be back next time we are in Boston.
