The majority of the staff here are friendly, however the older asian man is extremely rude and condescending. Every time I come in and he’s working, his attitude is extremely unpleasant and he just seems to have a chip on his shoulder. I understand he might hate his life, but he doesn’t need to take it out on other people.

Some of the staffs here need be replaced for sure, the bald Asian male and the nonbinary one are extremely rude and they are even discriminating against some of the customers. Their behaviors make me even doubt about their food safety.

Based on the recent reviews, I guess I got lucky and didn't have a problem. I ordered a mocha and chocolate croissant. It was not busy, but the server took forever making the coffee. The croissant was perfect and the coffee was good too.The place is cozy enough, but the music wasn't great if you were hanging out for a while.

the customer in front of me order an iced latte and the barista just used cold brew and added milk. the customer wasn't paying attention but i was shocked of the audacity of the barista to do this right in front of people. didnt order after this.

The girl behind the counter, was clearly not bothered. I asked for an Oat Milk cappuccino, I got a coffee with milk, filled way too much which burnt my hand when I took the lid off, no froth at all. The guy behind the counter seemed to be running around, cleaning up after the girl who has no idea and didn’t want to be there. What a load of rubbish

Chinese server not willing to listen. I asked only to add ice on a hot chocolate for my son and he rejected . Costumer can’t ask anything. Terrible service to be in Boston downtown.

They sell breakfast and lunch and for some reason purposely don’t carry salt or pepper…. They told me to go next door to 7/11 if I want salt or pepper.

Okay, so... let me temper this review by stating that we went on a Saturday afternoon. Given its location, I'm sure this place caters to the weekday working crowd. So, take that into consideration first and foremost.Still, I had to clean my own table. It was that level of service that day. I didn't mind, because I've bussed tables before. Not like I'm afraid to clean or anything. But, still, kind of a bad look if I'm being honest. They have Starbucks-like pricing with Caribou-like products and service. I mean, it's good, but... A couple of people in our party ordered food (just pastries), and they seemed happy enough with them. I had a "refresher" type beverage, a tea-lemonade mix. It was tasty, but it was way too small in volume for the price. I'd say you're paying for the ambiance, but...I did like the bookshelf in the back. I honestly don't know if they're for show or actual books you can pick up and read while you're there. And the enclosed fireplace in the back was nice, but no tables next to the chairs there, so nowhere to put your beverage (let alone any food you ordered). The line for the restroom was always super-long. I get the impression they're a rest area for tourists in town. "Hey, there's an open coffee shop, we can go the bathroom in there!" There are ways to address this, I guess, but whatev... I didn't need to use it, thankfully.Overall, it's fine for what it is, a kind of Sbux/Caribou knock-off or copycat. Maybe they came first, who knows, but either way, it's fine for a decent cup of fancy coffee. I'm just not sure I'd visit again on a Saturday afternoon.

Staff here were so rude we were actually in shock at the way we were spoken to. Male member of staff spent 5 minutes complaining about another customer because he’d asked for his drink to be made again. It was extremely uncomfortable and he was very aggressive which meant my friend no longer wanted to order. Then when I ordered a hot chocolate the girl bluntly replied ‘no hot chocolate’. Then the male colleague said we do have hot chocolate and she responded ‘I’m not making hot chocolate at this time’. It was 4pm and it should be served all the time anyway. This should be followed up with the two members of staff on shift today as it was appalling.

This place is pretty mid. Food was mid, coffee was mid, and service was terrible. The man taking our order was snappy when there wasn’t a line. Go to ANY other cafe Nero in the city and you will have a better experience than I did.
